Corruption scandal - V.Wänke captured !

Slovakian tabloid "Novy Cas" brought an interview with former referee Marian Dina who confessed the fact he was taking bribes. Acc.Mr.Dina, former 4th and 5th division referee from east Slovakia, bribes were in football as usuall as breathing the fresh air. He thinks slovakian football is corrupted from highest division to the lowest one. Described how were refs delaing the money between each other etc.

Pretty disgusting story. The worst thing is that even games of U14 kids were manipulated.

Slovakian police already instituted an inquiry, Mr.Dina is ready to help with investigation.

Not surprising, is it? Czechs and Germans have had their scandals, now it's our turn.

Agree with that.
Even in Holland there were some football-players suspected of manipulating games. There was no evidence though...

It´s on headlines now: Vladimir Wänke, Nr.2 in Slovak FA was red-handed as he received bribe 10000 Skk (about 300 eur).

The same Mr.Wänke declared war to corruption in football last Friday, March 2nd

President of SK Eldus Mocenok Mr.Stanislav Szabo needed to speed up transfer of player Masarovic from Austria. Doing it usuall way takes some 30 days, with the paycheck it´s possible legalise the transfer by return. V.Wänke falled into his own trap.

Mr.Szabo comes from Mocenok, same village than chief of slovakian Police Mr.Jan Packa.

another witness of corruption: Andrej Brzáč, player from Prievidza, says that Mr.Wänke asked him for bribe 30000 Skk for issuing player´s licence. Mentioned player joined lower-division team in Germany in year 2003.

The problem is that he is the only one with a sanction... and he is not the only corrupted man in the slovak football.

Teams I like: Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia), Peñarol (Uruguay), Chicago Fire (USA), Volgar Gazprom Astrakhan (Russia), Vannes (France), Dundee FC (Scotland), Arsenal (England) and Hammarby (Sweden).
