Any comments on the match vs Steaua on Thursday? I am glad to hear the game will be played in your Olympic stadium because the pitch is really far from the stands and Steaua will not be intimidated from this perspective. May the best team win.

As a Southampton fan I especially want DK to annihalate Steaua.

For those who don't know Southampton's only European game in about last 20 years was UC first round tie vs. Steaua. Steaua won 2-1 on aggregate.

Dynamo Kyiv are better than Shakhtar Donnetsk!

As a Karpaty fan I especially want DK to annihalate Steaua.

For those who don't know Karpaty's first ever European game about 30 years ago was 1/16 Cup Winners Cup tie vs. Steaua. Steaua won 4:3 on aggregate.

As for the game itself, we're still missing 3 first team players: Kleber, Milevsky & Fedorov... Also Kaddouri is doubtful.
Although Kleber has already started training, it will take at least 2-3 weeks for him to get back into his form and Milevksy should be back no sooner than the 20th.
So, again we gonna have to play with our 3rd choice striker Shatskikh as a lone striker i guess, casue Verpakovskis sucks. I dont care what some of you (DevilZ, Rebrov) think of the guy, if he's getting 80k bucks a month and doesnt score HE SUCKS!!!
And one of the most widely question asked by Verpak fan-boys "Why wont he leave?" is here-by answered... He's one of the most hightly paid foreigners in Ukraine... He will earn only a little fraction of his $80,000/month wherever he goes...

Our CB Fedorov is out until next year
...and left back Kaddouri on the other hand should definetely be fit for the matchday 2, but Steaua game is still under a big question.
...left winger Rotan got a slight injury playing for Ukraine in Kyiv this week, so Id like to see whether he starts today. If not, the injury might be serious... The press is silent about it :undecide:

Yeah and when Dinamo Bucharest beated Shakhtar 3 years ago there was family connection too. I remember Marica scored in the 2nd leg by the way, for Dinamo.

Dynamo Kiev got the revenge against Steaua some years ago in the CL qualifying round, so it´s Steaua turn now

Qualifyers dont count...

P.S. If you beat us, you can say bye-bye to your best players (i.e. Marica to Shakhtar), especially since your coach is not willing to increase their wages... p

Well if Dynamo Kiev are ready to pay 5 or 10 M for some "unknown" Romanian players, it´s ok for me.

An Ukrainian like Oleg Protasov collaborated to the good moment that Steaua lives lately. His good things were: to continue with the work of previous coachs without many changes and to put the newcomer Goian as central defender and consider Radoi as defensive midfielder (a good move there). That gave an extra stability to the Steaua game.

Injured: Radoi and Iacob (striker) for sure. Lovin (defensive midfielder) got injured yesterday in the league and he´s doubtful.

Suspended: I think the player suspended for this game is Petre Marin (full back).

A possible team in Kiev would be:

------------------Carlos
-----------Goian----------Ghionea
Saban/Stancu-----------------------Nesu
-------Ov.Petre/Lovin------Paraschiv
Nicolita-------------------------Bostina/Cristocea
-------------Dica--------Thereau/Badea
