Problem, think my comp is dying

I think my processor is ****ed. I think that's what it's called.

It's slowed down to ridiculous proportions. I've deleted a shit load of stuff, all my films, pictures, programs I never used, etc.. Then did a defrag, which took all night.

But whenever I try to do anything other than browse, it completely slows down. Even watching a show from my HD. Deleting big files usually stops responding. I thought I might have a virus but the scan is taking forever.

And I can hear it, just going, tick, tick, tick. Instead of whirrrr.

Any ideas?

Without it gravity is just gravy.

Sounds like hard drive.

Back up anything important now before it dies.

If it is the hard drive, you can get a new one and copy everything across and be good to go.

But backing stuff up just in case is always a good move.

Well I have an external HD but my brother has it and he's not back at his until 5, and there's a guy through work who can fix it. I'm just wondering how long it has left

Should I just turn it off and hope it comes back on, or leave it running until I get back?

It probably won't die that quickly, don't stress.

And if it does, put it in the freezer for 5 minutes and it should switch on when you get it back out (for real ).

Phew I managed to back up all of the files I wanted. And hopefully getting mine in to be repaired tomorrow. Bag o'shite. It seems to be OK now, but probably 'cuz I'm only browsing. I'm gonna turn it off, though.

I have the works laptop for now. But only until Tuesday Windows 7, yesss.
