Eurocups 2014/15

Figured that it's about time we start this thread considering that the first Russian team will be in action in three days. Krasnodar will be playing Sillamäe Kalev of Estonia in the second qualifying round of the EL this thursday.

Then on friday we have the draw for the third rounds of the EL and the CL where Zenit and Dinamo will be involved and of course Krasnodar if they make it past their Estonian opponents.

Zenit's potential opponents are:

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk Ukr 32.193
Panathinaikos Gre 30.220
Feyenoord Ned 13.362
Grasshoppers Zürich Sui 9.645
AEL Limassol Cyp 7.650

There's a chance UEFA might choose to prevent us from being able to draw Dnipro for political reasons. Would be nice, considering that they are likely the strongest potential opponent.

If Willy Wonka keeps bombing Russian territory then sooner rather than later.

Hopefully one of the last two teams. Althought Zenit is more than capable to get past any of those teams. I would think playing one of the weaker ones will help form team chemistry.

Feyenoord shouldn't be that bad either especially since they've already sold Pelle, Martins Indi and Janmaat and de Vrij is going to be sold too. Their back line will be in shambles.

No doubt they are a mid table RPL side (As proven by Kuban knocking them out last season).

As expected, UEFA made the sensible decision to prevent Russian and Ukrainian clubs from being able to play each other this season. That means Zenit gets to avoid drawing Dnipro tomorrow.

In other news, Krasnodar will be streaming the EL game of their website today. Here's a link

http://www.fckrasnodar.ru/main/now/

Game starts in just under 3 hours.

Why exactly would games in Russia be banned?

Krasnodar is winning 2-0 at half. Should easily have scored 5+ goals. Akhmedov alone should have had 3 within the first 20 minutes. The opposition is really weak. Krasnodar should coast through.

Krasnodar win 4-0. The home leg is basically a formality. They'll find out their opponents for the next round tomorrow when the draw will be done. Zenit and Dinamo will find out their opponents as well.

Another Estonian club, Nomme Kalju, picked up a surprise 1-0 win against Lech Poznan. As you say, Sillamae are very weak, and usually around this stage, Estonian clubs get trashed, like what happened in Levadia's match vs. Sparta Prague, which ended 7-0 for the Czechs.

They both have a great chance of advancing regardless of who they play.
Meanwhile, Loko are just waiting patiently. xD
