About the players, the style of play. M'Vila has some skills in terms of passing, especially short ones. Not that he put himself in positions to score goals. He was in a kind of storm of the pitch, with trouble in the media. Maybe this move will help him to get ridd of this and his bad entourage. He was a key player in Laurent Blanc team with the French NT.

About the club ambitions, also. They will play against Atletico Madrid in the C3. Tough one.

So, they were a couple of times champions of Russia in the last 5 years, precisely in 2008 and 2009. After that they lost their momentum for a bit, but they plan to get back to the top again.

They have a very spirited, humble, but disciplinarian coach Kurban Berdyev. They used to sign expensive players in the past, however the name alone won't win you place in the squad as Carlos Eduardo bought for €20m and plagued with injuries knows, same goes for Nelson Valdez and Obafemi Martins.

They seem to have penchant for Spanish, Latin in general and to lesser degree Turkish players.

They have charismatic and good goalie Rhyzikov, great defenders in central back / left back Bocchetti who's Italian international and only 26 years old, as well as Argentinian international Ansaldi who's a left-back. In addition they have two Spanish central backs who are also decent.

Midfield is their best asset, there an Israeli Natkho seems to be a boss and their top scorer, other notable players are Eremenko bought from Dynamo Kiev for quite a fee, as well as Gokdeniz Karadeniz, a Turkish experienced winger, in attack they have Rondon whom they bought from Malaga, he had a good first season, but now he's only scored 4 goals. I consider their attack to be the weakest overall.

They are a very disciplined team, they play combinational football in the middle and mostly use 1 striker.

I think they lacked a true leader in central midfield after the departure of Christian Noboa and I hope M'Villa will be able to provide that (Eremenko and Natkho are offensive midfielders).

I think if they'll get another striker in summer they'll be a force to be reckoned with in Europe.

Never seen this post before.

M'Vila is injured at the moment.

Rubin beat Zenit today 1-0. The 2 teams have won the last 5 Russian Championships, Zenit with 3 and Rubin Kazan with 2.

Rubin's winner came from Rondon who has been exceptional since his 12 Million Summer move from Malaga. They play the second leg of there Europa League match against Levante this week in Moscow after drawing 0-0 in Spain.

From May this is Rubin Kazan's new stadium! What a beauty! 45,000 all seater masterpiece!

Hopefully they get decent numbers for their home games. I'm guessing that next season they'll average about 17k maybe?

M'Vilna was an unused sub last week.

He might finally get his first taste of action tomorrow in the big game of the weekend against CSKA Moscow.

so what is going in rubin?financial fair play hit them hard?

yeah they have no spec,their merchandising, sponsor deals are low,profits none,the money comes from the kazan government.

they were already in uefa list,got their license for the rus league in the last day.

last stories

kasaev gone to dynamo,tore to besiktas,kaleshin to fc krasnodar,oficial.
ansaldi and eremenko not register so far for the league.
natcho and dyadyun linked with dynamo.

rubin purchase so far kulik and prudnikov.

it is bad for russian football,rubin is their third best club in europe and it was great to see rubin winning the title back in 2008 and 2009.
beating barcelona in the cl and lasrt year last 8 of europa league.

Man City interested in Rondon. Ive been telling anyone who will listen this boy is class, he even turned down overtures from Liverpool and Tottenham to sign for Kazan from Malaga.

Zenit should get in there right now - Rondon and Eremenko, they cost Rubin the best part of 30 Million Euro and have only got better, I think Zenit could pick the pair up for less than 40 Million Euro and these boys are proven in the RPL and they might as well go for Asnaldi too for a 50 Million triple swoop!
