No idea who Apollon is. It won't be easy for Zenit, Romanian teams are tough customers.

0-0. Not a good result. Unirea is a pesky team and now an away goal will send them through. Zenit will have to play smart and careful at home.

Good news is that Zenit got out of that jungle in one piece. Thought Kanunnikov had won it for sure.

Is ridiculous Zenit try to buy a defender for 20 million euros when they need is a class striker.

Kerzhakov is useless.

Zenit needed to play with two strikers up front in the second half, they had no one in the bench.

Tricky game next week. These romanian teams love to upset Ukraine, hope Zenit takes care of them at home.

Kleber, is Unirea the team that beat Dynamo in the group stage like 3 or 4 years ago?

Bukharov has to wait till the next round.

Russia's registration opens on Jul.29.
Deadline for CL (or EL) qualifiers is 24:00CET on the eve of the first leg, at the latest. (Thus, Ukraine's team could register a player on time (M.Koval) while Russian teams miss out.)

It would be quite funny if Zenit got all these big transfers (Bukharov, Alves, Lukovic) for Europa League.

I believe that was Steau Bucharest, 4-1 thrashing at Lobanovsky.

Then we all remember last year with Shakhtar and Timisoara in CL qualifying. These Romanian clubs are a thorn.

That would suck but I guess they'd be favorites

Yea I think Rebrov scored the opening goal too, or maybe for 1-1 haha so bad regardless.

Shakhtar were idiots. Made Chygrynsky cup tied for Barca because of 1st half disaster in Donetsk

That's right. It was Steaua who defeated DK 4-1 in 2006.

Shakhtar was eliminated by Timisoara last year but also by Dinamo Bucharest a couple of years ago.

I think CSKA lost to Dinamo Bucharest as well. And last time Russia met Romania they killed us 3-0.

The famous Spalletti "strikerless" system he is renowned for

Although tbf to him it is working out domestically for the team atm.

Danny looked scared to shoot today, he had like 3 dangerous situations in the second half alone and twice went for the pass and once his touch let him down.

Was the Rosina incident a penalty ? The replay struck me as a dive but they only showed it once.
