Russia vs. Holland friendly

Tough, tough opponnent. We hav to make sure we don't fall into Holland's gameplan and let them control possesion throughout the full 90 minutes. If I'm not mistaken, no Kerzhakov.

Prediction, Holland 2 - 0 Russia

We have a lot of injuries so you could even win this match.

And you have Hiddink...

Yea, pretty attacking formation right there. Saenko as a starter is also a surprise.

don't worry folks, van Basten's going to start all our players who're out of form (Huntelaar, Landzaat) or who're struggling for relegation (vd Vaart, Matthijsen etc)

Ones who're doing well are either injured (vd Sar, v Persie) or benched (Kuijt or Vennegoor)

John de Wolf “Dat is nou precies de aanjager, het ’etterbakkie’ in het veld dat Feyenoord in dit soort wedstrijden nodig heeft"

Not a surprise in my opinion, remember he is the only one who have been playing official games,i think the lack of competition and the fact that all this players are in pre season will be a factor against Russia.

4-1,Russia have to get rid of 75 per cent of the foreigners who are playing in the Russian league, give a chance to the youngsters, is the only chance.

Anyway,Hiddink can not play with a 3-5-2 formation with a Russian team against Holland, this is suicidal.

holy sheit 4-1...We didnt do anything in the whole match, no combinations, no Arshavin, nothing lol...only Bystrov played well......somehow I dont like Semshov allthough he played well against macedonia I think its better with Aldonin or Smertin.

to defence...our players are out of form and we were 5steps behind the dutch all the time.

Holland is better then Russia,as around 20 countries in europe that's all.

No karpin, mostovoi, alenichev, even nikiforov or onopko, who have Russia nowadays i ask?

Russia will find it hard to gain points in england, croatia or Israel.

I saw estonia ans israel game, that is enough....

The truth is that Russia don't have quality players as Holland and is far inferior to them as to many other european teams,so a change is needed in the Russian football starting on youth academies and a limit on the foreigners playing in the russian league,no more than five per starting line up i would say....stupid to see the quality of some foreigners in the russian league.

hehe you surelly know whats to be done...And I think the russians would agree with you. 5 foreigner per lineup is already in action at the start of the season...but you cant deny the fact that we have great talents comming up, just look at the average age of the nt. Gus could be playing with Smertin, Loskov, Sennikov, Evseev and alot of others too...we need some time to rebuild and well go far with this team....this match showed nothing!

we will win ovr England at home and beat the croats and we will be at the EURO!

No,this year you will have 7 foreigner per lineup not 5,only in 2009 i think.

Great talents?just like a guy called izmailov?:rollani: ,brystov and zhirkov are good but far from being talents.

this game was always going to be tough, even with russia's first 11. ignashevich being injured just made it harder, no organization in the defense and players of ignashevich's experience would not let the team concede 4 goals in the last 22 minutes.

for me, russia lack a true goalscorer i.e. someone who will bag 20+ goals a season. pogrebnyak is a good player but lacks the composure of a top striker and the rest are too inconsistent although pavlyuchenko is showing signs of consistency.

the russian first team is easily in the top 15 in europe, the depth beyond that is worrying. not too worry though, it was only a friendly and i would much rather the team lose this game than one in the qualifiers.
