Cl: Inter - Spartak Moskva

Two-match bans for Grosso and Sinisa Friday 6 October, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter’s Fabio Grosso and assistant manager Sinisa Mihajlovic have received two-match bans in the Champions League.

Grosso was red-carded in the 2-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich for lashing out an elbow at defender Willy Sagnol and has been suspended for two games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also dismissed, for two bookable offences, and is given the statutory one-match ban.

Mihajlovic was ordered to leave the San Siro touchline after a blazing row with Bayern deputy chairman Uli Hoeness following the Grosso incident.

Referee Steve Bennett sent both men off for moving out of the technical zone and they have received two-match bans.

Mihajlovic, a former Inter defender and now assistant manager to Roberto Mancini, will not be allowed into the dressing room, tunnel or technical area before or during the next two Champions League games.

Inter can lodge an appeal before midnight on Monday October 9.

UCL BANS FOR GROSSO, IBRA, MIHAJLOVIC
Saturday, 07 October 2006 18:46:58
MILAN - UEFA's disciplinary committee has disqualified Fabio Grosso for two matches and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for one following the two players' sendings-off against Bayern Munich in Champions League Matchday 2. Ibrahimovic, dismissed for a second bookable offence, will therefore miss Inter's Matchday 3 clash with Spartak Moscow at the Giuseppe Meazza on 18 October. Grosso is ruled out of the same match plus Inter's Matchday 4 meeting with Spartak in Russia on 31 October. Inter assistant coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and Bayern official Uli Hoeness have both been handed two-match bans.

Grosso has indeed been below-par. I guess he's thinking too much of himself and not trying hard enough, now that he's a World Champion. This attitude needs to change.

Maicon is to blame for the goal we conceded at Sporting, I hope he does better this time around..

I watched Ireland - Czech match today, and Kovac was playing as a DM as opposed to CB in previous matches. He looked poor today, worst game I've seen him play for NT. Where is he mostly used for Spartak? I know you guys keep complaining about Spartak defense. He's been mentioned as one of the better players for the club, but what position is he most useful at? He looked lost tonight with his lack of speed, his passing wasnt great either

In the first matches was used as central defender, but now is playing with Mozart as central midfielder.

For me is a great player but in this momment he's form is poor.

However, he score important goals in strategy. He has a great air play. In this momment to play in the defense, Martin Jiranek is in this momment better than him.

Greatings

Well, I still think Maicon is the better of the two players. I may be wrong though.

Important game for Spartak,a draw will be already good.

Bazhenov is out till the rest of the season,Strantzl is in doubt for the game.

Ibrahimovic and Grosso are suspended in inter team and Adriano looks poor at the moment.

Inter is not at their best,a chance for Spartak to do something.

This should be the line up:

Kowalewki
shishkin
Geder(strantzl)
Jiranek
Rodriguez
mozart
kovac
bystrov
titov
quincy
pavluchenko

It looks like impossible, but Spartak has to win in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, althought a win of Bayer against Sporting can do the draw a great result (if after Spartak win Inter at home).

Mancini can be out this night if his team doesn't win Spartak. I think Inter will start very hard and our poor defense will be the key to Mancini future.

Spartak has to resist the first 15 minutes, to play behind with a lot of players and to use the speed of Qvincy and Bistrov, and the power of POWLIUCHENKO.

For CSKA supporters:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think CSKA will do anything great in the CL this season.
The match with Arsenal was simply maravillous, incredible.
Zhirkov yesterday was the king, the work of Rahimic and Vagner, the security of Berezoutski brothers and Ignasevich, the techniche of Carvalho... and the best head of the russian football coaches, Mr. Valery Gazzaev.
Danger with CSKA, I think they will be in semis or in the final this year.
