Gazprom are giants amoung men. With the money and power they have they can pretty much build anything.

And that is the problem for Zenit, they can soon forget Zenit and do like Abramovich and invest big money in a foreigner club.

In fact they are already doing that with Schalke 04,now the german club even have a russian version on their site.

Of course, German companies are gazprom's most important partners.

But there's enough money for clubs in different leagues. Add that Piter is gazprom's headquarter, they build a new gazprom city there. Zenit will flourish.

I think it looks outdated, like it was designed in the 90's.

"I took shrooms at a naked beach. Fat people looked like they were made out of melting wax. I thought the homos had lasers for eyes and when they checked me out I'd feel burning on my skin. That's a day I'll never forget, for sure."

Can Zenit fill a stadium with a capacity of 62000?

Of course, Zenit has a passionate fanbase and a big city behind them. I'm sure they will attract more than 50000 per game.

IMO they may attract such crowds against teams like cska, spartak and loko but others i doubt the attendance will be more than 40,000. it just seems that the teams in russia cannot attract many fans whether that is a pricing issue idno't know but the stadium does look fantastic.

btw, i am not sure but is it allowed that a government owned company can have such a say in a club, i don't think that is right. sole investor like fedorychev or abramovich yes but gazprom IMO no.

40000 at normal games would be good, there's no need for constant sell outs.

Zenit won't get less than 30,000 ever with that new stadium imo. Against the big three Moscow clubs CSKA, Loko and Spermtak they'll 100% sell out, also European games. IMO Zenit's average attendance with this new arena will be around 45,000.

This is true. I believe Putin is from St. Petersburg, anything we should read out of that considering Gazprom is owned by the government.

Gazproms even though now a state institution is fairly run independently by its board. The only time the government chims into the business aspect is when serious political considerations are taken.

As far as Gazproms investments into stadiums and soccer teams I think the government will stay clear of the boards decisions.

Zenit has to survive Dinamo Moscow's "we're rich and we will win" syndrom first. than thinking of big success Imo they can finish both in middle or in upper part, but well, stadium construction is a big development for whole infrastructure.
