This new has been around in the Russian media and also in the International media since two or tree weeks ago,i believe we only see a statement by Hiddink after the world cup.......the last info is that Mutko in a interview given to Sport-Express has confirmed Hiddink as the new head coach of Russia national team....

A little off-topic.

Do we have a special thread about Russian NT after good old "Road to Germany" isn't topic of the hour anymore?

Btw,Hiddink has just denied that he has a agreement or signed any contract with the Russian football federation....

I've changed the title of the thread, as Hiddink for the first himself has confirmed that he's set to become your NT coach for the next 4 years. He'll continue living in Holland though.

Congrats on the appointment. So what'll Hiddink have to work with?
damn hope it's a lot better than the stuff I saw in that 7-1 loss to Portugal only 1,5 years ago

yep, no club at all. He said when hé announced he'd leave PSV that it'd only be a NT and no club.

He'll probably need the time himself too to know who the half decent players are or who are rubbish, as he also said that he doesn't know all too much Russian football yet. Same I guess when he took on the South Korean job. Lets not forget that he's a man who'll turn 60 later this year. Maybe time to not have a double function like he's been having lately.

It's official, Hiddink is a Russian NT coach. I hope he will do just as good job as with South Korea. Good luck Mr. Hiddink.

Damn. I won't believe in Hiddink in our NT before he signs the contract. And as far as i know now he agreed only in word.

Hiddink: 'Nederland voorbeeld voor Rusland'

14/4/2006 17:32

Russian FA is going to spend 10 million euros on the NT. Guus is going to learn Russian and Abramovich had a part in this story

Most part of money Hiddink will earn is gonna be paid from Abramovich's pocket.
