Official Transfer Rumor Thread

Cruz mulls Moscow move Tuesday 27 December, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter striker Julio Cruz is at the centre of a tug-of-war between two Russian Premier League clubs.

The Argentinian international’s contract at the San Siro runs out in the summer and although he has been offered a new two-year deal he has yet to put pen to paper. That has alerted CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow who are keen to step in should contract negotiations collapse.

Cruz is thought to be holding out for a three-year deal and an increase on his current wages although the player’s agent, Jorge Cyterszpiller, has revealed that it is Cruz’s desire to stay with the Nerazzurri.

“We agreed to meet in January,” Cyterszpiller told Corriere dello Sport. “We are serious people and we confirm the absolute priority is for Inter. I am working to obtain an important contract - the one Julio deserves."

Reports in Italy claim that the rival Moscow clubs have both already offered Cruz a deal and can guarantee him a regular place in their starting line-up. First team football has been available at Inter to the 31-year-old this season but he has had to play in rotation with Adriano and Obafemi Martins and with the expected arrival of Victor Obinna in January competition for places is set to become even fiercer.

Zanetti : I still remember my first day at Inter. I arrived with a plastic bag with my boots inside and I crossed the crowd of fans who were asking who I was. That's where it all started.....

I dont know much about him so I cant really comment. Anyway, anything new with Lokomotiv I havent been following them much lately, I did hear about a few players leaving the team though, and the disaster way in which Lokomotiv ended the last season .

Julio Cruz is a player I rate quite highly. I first noticed him when he played for Feyenoord, and was expecting a lot more from him than he's really produced. Still think it would be a great signing for Loko, although I realise this story is probably bullshit.

I think I meant that too :rollani:. It's a pretty serious accusation so you better think before posting, especially since you have nothing you could back your statement up with .

And you're gonna get into trouble soon, but not because of being UkraInian but because of talking offtopic .

The player of Serbian U21 NT Lazareski Nenad (sp? )will come to Loko training camp in United Arab Emirates. He's a halfback who can play on any wing.

After the training the main coach will decide if the team needs this player or not...

Lokomotiv Moscow eyeing Abou-Treika, Ahli set 5m euro price tag
Sun, 8 Jan 2006 - 12:31
By: Filgoal Writer

Mohamed Abou-Treika

Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow have opened negotiations with Egyptian champions Ahli to acquire the services of playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika.

A representative from the Russian club met with Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qayei on Saturday to discuss a move for the Egypt international during the winter transfer window.

“I asked the Russian club’s representative to present an official offer for the services to the player,” Al-Qayei told Filgoal.com.

Ahli have put a 5 million euro price tag on Abou-Treika, a sum described as “exaggerated” by the Lokomotiv official.

Al-Qayei hinted that Ahli could agree to a 2 million euro fee, especially that Lokomotiv are looking to sign the 28-year-old ahead of the African Cup of Nations.

Abou-Treika was exemplary with both Ahli and Egypt

Abou-Treika stated his desire in completing the move and voiced his hopes that Ahli can reach an agreement with the Russian side.

“I’m hopeful Ahli will agree to this move that will benefit me both financially and technically, especially that I spent to successful seasons with the club during which we won both local and continental titles” Abou-Treika told Filgoal.com.

“Lokomotiv’s offer is serious and they want to complete it as soon as possible,” he added.

Ahli’s board is set to make a decision regarding the offer following the return of club president Hassan Hamdi and vice-president Mahmoud Al-Khatib to Cairo.

You are welcome.
It'll be a very good deal for Lokomotiv if it goes through. Guaranteed!

5 million is too much money for him, he isnt really a proven goalscorer.
I think that money could have bought someone better.

Ah... Even if he was a proven goalscorer - there wouldn't be any guarantees that he'll score for Lokomotiv.

Can anyone here tell me if Abou-Treika played anywhere outside Egypt during his career? I've never heard about him but as far as i understand he's been playing for some years already.

Abo Treika isn't a prolific goalscorer simply because he's not even a striker to begin with - he's a playmaker.

He is still capable of scoring goals and was one of our top scorers in 03/04 (he joined the team in the winter market and made an instant impact) with 13 goals. He was integral in our championship winning team last season, and he also played a role in winning the African Champions league. He has scored 5 league goals so far this season. I'll try to look up some of his goals and put them here.

Treika a very intelligent and skillful player. A joy to watch. But 5 mill is way too much IMO.

And no, he never played outside Egypt even if he's 27 years old. He spent most of his career playing for Tersana, a small team in our league, and only became a star once he joined Ahly in 04.
