Luch-Energiya Vladivostok promoted to First Division

They are from Russian Far East as everyone knows.

Does anyone think there will be any problems for them and for their opponents to travel such long distances for their league games?

I mean, the distance from Moscow to Vladivostok is huge.

I think most clubs are not exactly happy about their promotion, but they have to fly to Tomsk as well, so a few thousand km more shouldn't be a problem.

I am glad Luch-Energia made it! (Although I always preferred Okean Nakhodka...)

That has to be football's longest away trip. Vladivostok is in the same timezone as Sydney and Melbourne (GMT +10), while Moscow is in +3. Seven hours difference. Bloody hell.

Interesting article about them in this weeks VI. Their stadium speaker describes them as a club with no football school, no talent, no decent trainers but we only have money and tonnes of it too although from where we can not be certain as a director of the club got liquidated in May of this year.

They got big plans for the future though and are planning to rebuild their stadium which overlooks the Sea of Japan, get into the UEFA cup in a couple of years and will next season have the 5th biggest budget in the Russian premier league.

Also they're looking to ask the Russian FA next season to schedule 2 home games (and away games) at a time to save costs.

I'll probably use the inspiration of this club for my next FM 2005 adventure

The only thing i know is that Luch-Energia will play their home matches in Moscow. At least for the first half of our Championship... Their stadium is not good enough for playing RFPL matches.

Maybe not 100 - there's a lot of people from different Russian cities in Moscow... But still not many, yep. Well, maybe in the second half of the season they'll already have their own stadium. The loan of Luzhniki where they're gonna play their home matches costs much enough... So i don't think they'll play there for long time.

They have played 5 games this season.
Have they never had their “real” home games so far?

Yes, they played with Lokomotiv in Vladivostok.
The game ended with 1:1.

However i don't believe Luch may achieve anything this season.
They've been wondering about strange decisions made by referees in RPL by now.

Common practice amongst newcomers. Still imo it'd be difficult for them even to stay up in the league.

Hi It's definitely worse than my German atm (just cos I have German classes two times a week and no Croatian classes), but I hope to pay equal attention to both languages in summer if I have time for it then
