The Cavenaghi thread

Most likely the most well-known Spartak player, to keep some of the other threads on topic, it may be a good idea post any news, etc. about him here.

For the Russians, but for non russians it should be Cavenaghi, many people talk about him when he was in River Plate.

But of course that Titov is apart from the rest,he belongs to club history .

Super stuff Toli, would of done this myself! Yep i'd fully agree that Cav is the most famous Spartak player among non-Russians.

If he stays for next season i think he could do with a different coach in charge for a fresh start for him (as a Cav fan i hope it happens if he stays) although for Spartak it should depend on where they finish, things have been reported at various times about Cav and Starkov and i don't think it'll change much.

Unfortunately the style of football in Russia just doesn't seem to suit that much (like Barcelona's style and Riquelme for instance), he has shown on a few occasions what he is capable of (his last two goals have been worthy of ANY stage and were voted goal of the week on the goals site) and if he does stay maybe next season will be what we hoped this one would be. Even so on minutes played this season he has a record of nearly 1 goal every 2 games which isn't bad at all.

Whatever happens i just want him playing and scoring goals!

It rankles with me that he wasn't allowed to take penalties after that first one, what changed? If he'd been allowed to continue taking them his goals would of been more and more likely his confidence would of been higher so scoring more from open play...oh well thats in the past now!

Include cup and it is 27 appearances and 7 goals, minutes played he has about a goal every 3 games.

I think that Depor would pay that if they had it but i don't think they have it, maybe if they sell Scaloni? Couldn't say about Benfica although again if they were to sell Simao then they would have some ready made cash available as well.

Personally i think it is nothing more than a rumour, we had enough of them in August and nowt happened.

Yes, I think so. There are so many rumors. Maybe these clubs really wanna get the service from Cavenaghi, but they don't have enough money. :depress:
