A friend or a girl?

I've heard so many times that friendship between women is nothing compared to friendship between men, cos girls argue if they fall in love with the same guy, while for guys it's always friendship which is more important than a girl. :rollani: Is it true? What do you think about it?
So, guys, what would you do choose: your friend or a girl you are in love with?

PS. I know this subject is probably more suitable for L&D forum but I'd like to know your opinions on this matter

PPS. It's not that I just started thinking about it all of a sudden, it's P-C's post and Juergen's reply that made me think about it

As I stated before...I have seen many friendships breaking because of women.... If the guy really loves or wants the girl, he will prefer her. Genes...or romance, call it what you want.

Of course there are also cases where the opposite happens, but these are rare occasions.

Maybe you should set up a poll?

I'm with Juergen anyway. Girl > Best Friend. Sad in a way, but true.

The question is way too general. It really depends on a particular situation.

Are you guys serious?

I've been in this situation and I didn't hesitate, I went for my friend. To pick a girl who you're attracted to or even have a crush on, over a guy whom I've known since we were born and been friends with ever since, to me is unthinkable.

The expression plenty more fish in the sea comes to mind.

To be more specific, I experienced it myself...it's normally not about "choosing" but about sharing time with your girlfriend which automatically reduces chances to meet your friends...and you drift apart.

I hear what you're saying Juergen. That's a different case IMO but as long as the girl doesn't make demands and we leave room for eachother to spend time apart, that doesn't need to be a problem.

I was talking about my friend having a crush on a girl, trying to get with her for months, when all of a sudden she asked me out , I told her I couldn't do it.

Great reaction!

The good thing is, such things never happen to me...seems like my taste is totally different from that of my buddies.

If the girl made too many demands that affected your relationship with existing friends, then you'd have to consider whether the girl was worth it. What i'm saying is if the friends made my relationship with my girlfriend difficult, then i'd have to consider whether I want them as friends. There's no clear answer though. Depends on how much you like the girl.

I would never go out with a girl my friend liked a lot.

hmmm, let me think of one...
well, the easiest one that comes to my mind... if you and your friend fall in love with the same girl? fight with a friend for her or let him have her? or let her choose? or just agree that you both will ignore her?

I think friendship with man is more stabilized, the girl can left you in a moment.

Ah, that's better.
Me and my best friend had this unwritten rule, which stated that the one that felt in love with her first (and told the other one about it) should have a first try, unless she clearly shows sympathies for the other one. So it really depends on a situation: if he felt in love with her first, I'd let him have her. But if I felt in love with her first and he tried to break this rule, I'd go for a girl.

As I said before, I've never been in such a situation. Actually me and my friends joke about each other, because our tastes are so different...
