This Day Has Come

Russian football chief resigns

Thursday, 27 January 2005
Viacheslav Koloskov resigned today as president of the Football Union of Russia (RFS) after more than 20 years in power. Vice-president Nikita Simonyan confirmed Koloskov's departure after a meeting of the RFS executive committee in Moscow.

Career path
Koloskov, 63, began his career in sports administration when he was appointed head of the Soviet Union Sports Committee's ice hockey department in the 1970s. He was subsequently appointed head of the football department in 1979 and remained in power after the break-up of the USSR, becoming RFS president in 1992.

Position under threat
Over the past decade, his position had been under threat on several occasions but he survived and was re-elected as RFS president in December 2003. Viacheslav Fetisov, the head of the Russian federal agency for sports and physical education - the equivalent of a sports minister - publicly announced that Koloskov would step down in the near future after Russia's 7-1 defeat by Portugal in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in October.

well, Mutko, Tyagachev, anybody else... Frankly, I dont know anybody deserving respect among those who can fill in Koloskov's place now, but what, better rely on the only fact he's kind of authority in FIFA and UEFA?

Last time he announced about 3 possible candidates:
Tiagachev
Mutko
Aloshin

Sure the last two were named just as a matter of form, nothing more.
I would like to see Vitali Leontievich as the president of RFS... but it can reflect on the attitude to FC Zenit.

But anyway i'm gonna drink today!!!!!!!

Should I remind about "golden goal" rule in Cup 01/02 and then Kerzh's winning goal in match with Krylia? If he will be the president of RFS, and will do everything in a way like that, then I'd like Koloskov back Sorry, but this the only thing makes me think not in the best way of Mutko.

So what?
let's talk about it later
that's exactly what i fear.
Mutko becomes a president
This year Zenit becomes a champion of Russia (ok, ok, let's suppose so)
And let's suppose we do the fair game
Nobody would believe - we'll never launder ourselves.

The purity of the club is my idee fixe

Let ABRAMOVICH,DERIPASKA,VEKSELBERG,ALEKPEROV buy their Faberge eggs, Chelseas and other staf.

as for Baturina (and her husband), it will be the second Moscow Manezh, she will fire Loko stadium (as they did with Manezh) for example, one of her numerous building companies will get right to restore it, she will get huge money and all will be happy.

Tyagachov instead of Koloskov. Great. :dielaugh:
And then - Koloskov can get Tyagachov's place as a president of our Olympic Commitee. And we'll have the same situation - two ****ers on the main two sport posts of Russia - which we're used to already. Everybody's happy.
Fetisov, wake up! :fero:

We were fixed on dropping Kolos and even forgot about our national miracle! and he signed contract with Portsmouth on the same day. The price of his transfer is about 1 mln European roubles.

Goodbye Dima , we will miss you sooooo much!!!
