International Language Exchange

Hey let's have another try to open such a thread on our forum... Despite all the trouble it caused last time I still think it is a brilliant idea (our thanks go to Juergen ). I don't know for the rest of you but personally I would be very interested in knowing more football terms in English (and not only in Engilsh, that is why I changed the thread name a bit). And a little remark before we get it started: since it's the Offtopic forum, any other linguistic questions are welcome to this thread too (lol I already know I am going to ask all of you a lot of questions related to my translations so I am preparing some excuses beforehand :dielaugh:).

and here's the first thing I'd like to know:
what is English for that thing they put under beer mugs in pubs? :dielaugh:
In Germany I heard smth like "Bierdecke" but I am not sure I got it right what would you say about it, Juergen?
(it's not offtopic btw, for many people beer and football go hand in hand )
