Foreign players in the Russian league

It's really about time for this thread. More and more foreign stars are flooding into the Premier Liga, only inside the last weeks Cavenaghi, Wagner Love, Barijho and Montenegro came to Russia and joined an already impressive list of high calibres here.

Let's present the foreign stars, club by club and start with the current leaders:

i highly rate as profesionals Brakamonte, Jaroshik (not for this season but maybe a bit for last), Olic (very often ih his actions there is much fidgeting and muddle but he does his work), Kushev (he is not top foreigner but carries Shinnik on his shoulders)...

as for Wagner Love, Covenaghi, Lima, Rodrigues and others, let the others say who want cos it is not in my rule to speak about the player only for his previous clubs and playing. Russian champ is a special one so it needs time and some players fail here.

Zenit St. Peterburg

A club with a Czech coach and therefore a strong Czech influence. Still, most key players are Russian.

Czech players:
Martin Horak, age 23: former Czech youth national team player, from Bohemians Praha
Pavel Mares, age 28: Czech international, formerly at Sparta
Pavel Sirl, age 23: formerly Bohemians
Lukas Hartig, age 27: striker, came from Bohemians, also an ex-Sparta player

Slovakia:
Kamil Contofalski, age 26: keeper, came from - you got it right - Bohemians..
Martin Skrtel, age 19: highly rated young defender

Serbia:
Milan Viescica, age 24, defender

Romania:
Daniel Chirita, age 30

Ukraine:
Alexandr Gorshkov, age 34: Old, but a regular starter for Zenit
Alexandr Spivak, age 29

Lithuania:
Darius Mitseika, age 21

Armenia:
Armen Oganisian, age 18

FYR Macedonia:
Velice Sumulikoski, aged 23, international midfielder

I'm not going to count the ex-Soviet rep. players.

Olic-Currentley on form and playing very well. (Croatia)
Jaroshik-Also playing very well. (Czech Rep.)
Vagner Love-Big excpectations. (Brazil)
Odia-One of the best left backs in the country right now imo. (Nigeria)
Carvalho-Big excpectations, but currentley struggling with an injury. (Brazil)
Ferreira-Big excpectations as well, but is having a very rough season. (Argentina)
Rahimic-Very consistent and underrated. (Bosnia)

2 Viola:
You forgot about the left winger Alexander Spivak, age 28, Ukraine

By the way the correct spellings are the following:
Kiritse -> Chirita
Shumulikoski -> Sumulikoski
Chontofalski -> Contofalski
Vestica -> Viescica (Serbian for 'witch')

as faras i know

Rahimic came to Anzhi from some Austrian second division team.
Here I have found clubs he played for:
Slaven, Bosna (Bosnia), Factor (?Faktor?, Slovenia), Stal (?Schtal?, Austria) and Anzhi (Russia). Maybe Viola can find some info at austrian sites?..

About BiH national team: he said once or two times that he have some conflict with Bosnian FA, or with national team coach, or with both (i don't remember exactly with whom). So he don't play for Bosnia.

Good hint, Tigr!
I remember Rahimic playing for my hometown club Vorwärts Steyr, in 1998/99. Afterwards the club collapsed and is no more...

THIS 5 MILLION DOLLARS BUY has a really rough season, cos in last match against Sokol he looked like a joke

first he spoiled a brilliant pass from Semak, shooting wide the empty goal, and fully lost all that he could to his opponent in Sokol - young russian Ivanov, bought recently by Sokol for 2 MILLIONS (not dollars) but roubles.
