Well, Carson spilled an easy save for Dharp to tap in, then Russell goes and slams the ball in his own net and your 2-0 down. Uphill task from then on.

Rowetts revolution is very much still a work in progress.

Been away for a few days, but a deadline day re cap, which turned out a lot busier than expected.

Craig Bryson out on loan to Cardiff. Been a good servant to us, but not recaptured form off the first play off campaign. And if we play 4231 there's not a natural place for him.

Loan Swap deal Jacob Butterfield to Sheff Wed with striker Sam Winnall coming here for the season. No natural place for Butters on a 4231 either and we get another striker. Winnall scored bags full for Barnsley, but with Rhodes also going to Wednesday he hasn't quite hit it off, neither has Rhodes to be fair. Should be well suited to play the lone striker too.

Maikel Kieftenbeld signed from Birmingham, a last minute surprise this one. Plays as a DM and if we are going to play with 2 DMs then I think this was a player we needed. More off a battler than a passer, but that's what Hudds and Thorne do, could prove a good foil for them. His best spell for Brum came under Rowett as well, so Gaz knows what he has signed.

Elsnik & Gordon have gone to Swindon on loan, Rawson to Accrington Stanley

Some moaning by fans at the moment who seemed to want us to spend millions. It's no secret I think that some costly mistakes needed rectifying. Looking at the transfer window as a whole, are we stronger or weaker?

Tom Ince out, replaced by Tom Lawrence. Ince is more proven, but Lawrence has potential. Around Ł4 million gained as well, as long as Lawrence performs, this could be good business

Christie out, Wisdom in. Similar money, wisdom is the better defender, good business.

Hughes out, Huddlestone in. Experience of Huddlestone and a more deep lying midfielder. I like we have Huddlestone but not that we lost Hughes.

Bryson out, Kieftenbeld in. Seems it's a move to better suit how Rowett wants to play. I do get the feeling Bryson will do really well for Cardiff though.

Davies in, adding the the defence, thumbs up
From me.

Butterfield out, Winnall in. The out and the on makes sense, not as the straight swap though. Ideally I think Bent going out as well, and another player who can play in the 3 behind the striker would have been ideal. Bents injury didn't help that though.

So how are we going to line up....

Carson

Wisdom - Keogh - Davies - Olsson/Forsyth

Huddlestone/Thorne - Johnson/Kieftenbeld

Russell/Wiemann - Vydra - Lawrence

Nugent/Winnall/Martin

DM looks strong with good variation, but the 3 in front still lacks something, so I can see the frustration that Birmingham got Jota for 6 million, though it seems it's the 40k wages that would have put us off, and the fact he turned down Fulham for more money, has put me off him a bit. Fulham have every chance of going up this season, I doubt Birmingham will be anywhere near.

Anyway January window, its obvious where we will need to look again, everywhere else looks pretty good to me.

Yeah some of the moaning and people on suicide watch is a bit much.

We still look a bit short in the 3 attacking roles I agree, but everywhere else looks pretty good.

Of course that is a key area, and the concern is a lack of creativity. Lawrence appears to be a natural in the wide positions, Vydra is very much a forward number 10, he's more about scoring goals than creating, it would be good to have a more creative alternative their, that would have made a big difference. Perhaps that will be addressed in January, but for now we go with what we've got.

Yeah, a right miserable bunch

To be fair, the modern era of social network etc give the miserable lot a platform to be heard.

What irritates me is people moaning like this is the worst Derby team ever. They must either be 12 years old or have very short memories.

Derby hammering Hull, up 4:0 at halftime

Two goals by Vydra, Davies scores against his former club, however it must be noted Hull missed a PK when it was still 1:0

5-0

Didn't see that one coming.
Really saw the work rate and closing down that Rowett wants come through, and the. Some good football and finishing to get the goals.

Lawrence looks like a talent, and finally we are seeing what Vydra can do.

Thanks to Seb Larsson for blasting his penalty over the bar

While everyone else plays in the league tonight, we play Barnsley in the league cup. A trip to Wembley awaits the victors.

Eagerly awaiting the team, as George Thorne could be handed his first start for 15 months....god that's a long time.

Disappointing to lose 3-2 to late goals, after twice taking the lead. But to see George play and make it through a full 90 minutes makes up for it

11 changes from the Hull game, and we were doing well, so perhaps players who haven't played much ran out of steam at the end.

Went to bed dreaming of Wembley, woke up to find we'd thrown the lead away

90 minutes for Thorne is the big positive, wonder if he will make the bench at Bristol tomorrow?

Same team as against Hull with Thorne on the bench.

Midfielder Joe Ledley, who was a free agent, has signed until January.

F****t saved by goal difference.

Disappointing draw at home to struggling Birmingham, game was a total snoozefest for the first hour (first half only had one shot on target combined) until Birmingham scored out of nowhere. Winnall scored minutes later on probably his first touch and Derby had their chances to win the match

Yeah not good. Lots of disgruntled fans at the moment. Rowetts more long ball game not going down well in some quarters.

Winnall getting his first goal is a positive.

Rowett is under pressure, more due to performance than results. We had something like 22% possession against Brentford and it was as low as 17% at half time.

His more defensive style is not going down well, especially as results are not great. With an away trip to Cardiff at the weekend, Rowett needs to galvanise a performance out of his players.

This season so far has just been a bit dull, which is already being reflected with the low crowds.

Hard fought 0-0 away at Cardiff, another draw but a better performance.
