Teams: Derby County, England
Some moaning by fans at the moment who seemed to want us to spend millions. It's no secret I think that some costly mistakes needed rectifying. Looking at the transfer window as a whole, are we stronger or weaker?
Tom Ince out, replaced by Tom Lawrence. Ince is more proven, but Lawrence has potential. Around Ł4 million gained as well, as long as Lawrence performs, this could be good business
Christie out, Wisdom in. Similar money, wisdom is the better defender, good business.
Hughes out, Huddlestone in. Experience of Huddlestone and a more deep lying midfielder. I like we have Huddlestone but not that we lost Hughes.
Bryson out, Kieftenbeld in. Seems it's a move to better suit how Rowett wants to play. I do get the feeling Bryson will do really well for Cardiff though.
Davies in, adding the the defence, thumbs up
Butterfield out, Winnall in. The out and the on makes sense, not as the straight swap though. Ideally I think Bent going out as well, and another player who can play in the 3 behind the striker would have been ideal. Bents injury didn't help that though.
So how are we going to line up....
Wisdom - Keogh - Davies - Olsson/Forsyth
Huddlestone/Thorne - Johnson/Kieftenbeld
Russell/Wiemann - Vydra - Lawrence
DM looks strong with good variation, but the 3 in front still lacks something, so I can see the frustration that Birmingham got Jota for 6 million, though it seems it's the 40k wages that would have put us off, and the fact he turned down Fulham for more money, has put me off him a bit. Fulham have every chance of going up this season, I doubt Birmingham will be anywhere near.
Anyway January window, its obvious where we will need to look again, everywhere else looks pretty good to me.
