I hope Bendigo is to your liking, Jeff. What's the origin of the name?

Here's an 'off-topic' matter: referees in amateur football.

I've just read that referees at grassroots level in England are planning a nationwide strike in response to the abuse they get. I can't say I blame them. A couple of years ago I met a young, recently-qualified referee (and BAFC fan) who earlier that day had taken charge of an amateur match in a public park in a certain suburb of Derby. At some point he was confronted, and given loads of abuse, by a representative of a club whose game he had officiated a week previously. This bloke was obtuse enough to want to track down the ref at a game in which he had no interest. W*****!

for all the tossers who inject aggro into amateur football.

Yeah it's not something I'd want to. The teams I've played in were generally good to the refs. Bit I've seen plenty who were a disgrace.

My experience in the Ashbourne summer league is not to bad. Obvously there's heated disagreements, but nothing nasty that I've seen.

Ooh I might play Ashbourne summer league this season, as my parents live up in Hulland Ward and they are apparently looking for players. Don't play Sunday league anymore as it's too much hassle with the kids, plus mine and my partners work commitments.

Cameroon came from behind to beat Egypt 2-1 in the final of the cup of nations. Deserved winners, the win goal was a beauty.

Leicester fans aren't known for their intelligence.

First test between India and Australia started today. Australia started well, India have come back into it. Young Renshaw has equiped himself well on a brutal wicket that Ashwin and Jadeja are getting loads of spin and bounce out of. Steve Smith got out to a stupid slog of a shot.
