It's summer here. Cooled down recently, thankfully, but not long ago we had a few scorchers around 36/37 degrees. I actually walked down to the beach with my brother around midnight as I couldn't sleep, it was lovely down there. Hardly anyone around. Btw what's your drink of choice in summer or in general? I love cider especially Somerby's Apple. I just know I've stacked on a few over the summer ._.

37 degrees? Bloody hell I would melt

I don't have 1 particular drink, I like a good lager and a real ale, I used to like cider but have gone of it a bit.

I am very partial to a nice vodka.

Walking to the beach? You don't know how lucky you are.

Summer or winter, I like real ale (Burton Bridge Bitter is one of my favourites) and I like red wine.

Change of off-topic subject: The African Cup of Nations starts on Saturday. It's usually pretty interesting. Had to get the atlas out to find out exactly where Gabon, the host country, is, though.

F****t saved by goal difference.

Have you heard of Burton Bridge Brewery? You could be forgiven if the answer is no: They've only got five pubs - four in Burton and one in Newton Solney.

ITV4 will be showing the African Cup of Nations.

No I haven't, my dad might know it, he lived in Burton for a while.

Ah that's good, as long as it's not by sport

African Cup of Nations starts today, but it's not in ITV4's schedules for today. Maybe the channel won't be interested until the quarter-finals or something like that.

Darts on tonight

BDO world final Glen Durrant vs Danny Noppert

Durrant is the best player in the bdo, I wonder if he wins the title if he will make the switch to the pdc

Noppert is a young Dutchman who I also expect to see in the pdc soon as well as Jamie Hughes who lost to Durrant in the semi final.

btw I think Bangladesh are growing as a Test nation. They're playing the Kiwis atm and in their first innings Shakib scored their highest ever innings of 217, plus combining with his captain Mushfiqur for the fourth highest 5th wicket partnership in test history and this is played in Wellington.

Yeah, Bangladesh getting better all the time. Shouldn't be a huge surprise, it's a bit like Sri Lanka in the past. Now they are a proper test side and should keep getting better. Which is good for cricket.

jimbo you concerned about the future of Test Cricket? It seems in a good state in England and Australia to an extent, but other countries T20 is all the rage. I don't care for it personally.

A little bit. I really don't like how they now play the tests first and then the ODIs last, it should be the other way round. One day games are a warm up for the big test matches.

Seen a interview with Glen Durrant, says he would defend his BDO world title, but if the PDC make him an offer, basically I will be off.

Which channel was this? I haven't seen this Cup in ITV4's schedules yet, even though that channel said it was going to be covering (some of) it.

Years ago it was good. Lots of matches were covered and there was an enthusiastic Scouser who took you to a few locations, none of them bearing a sponsor's name, in the cities staging matches.

It's on Eurosport.

Egypt undeservedly through to the final after beating Burkina Faso on penalties. Apart from an excellent goal from Salah to make it 1-1 Egypt were really dull, Burkina Faso were they only team trying to win the game.

Think the second semi final is Ghana v Cameroon.
