Shaquille MacDonald has joined Swindon town on loan, scored a few goals for the u21s. Will be good to see what he can do.

Be nice if he's good enough to get a pair of trainers named after him in the future.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has told the Yorkshire Post he believes Derby County defender Farrend Rawson is Premier League quality.

The former Crawley boss, who once masterminded a famous victory over Derby in the FA Cup with a non-league side, couldn’t hold back his delight after announcing the Rams defender will remain in South Yorkshire until the end of the season.

‘’The young man [Rawson] is going to be in the Premier League,’’ said Evans. ‘’Hopefully he will get there with Derby. He is someone I think that highly of.

‘’It’s a big call to play a young man like that. But I know, having spoke to Macca (Steve McClaren), how highly he thinks of Faz.’’

The 18-year-old has been hugely impressive in his time with the Millers and once again stole the headlines on Monday by helping Evans’ side to a huge 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Although not with his parent club, Rawson could give the Rams a boost this weekend by helping Rotherham claim all three points against promotion rivals Middlesbrough.

What next for Farrend Rawson?

Although he is yet to make his senior debut for Derby, the decision by McClaren to allow the youngster to remain at Rotherham could raise a few eyebrows among the fans.

Since making his Football League bow, in which he hugely impressed, the plaudits haven’t stopped for the young defender and now he can claim to be one of the most impressive teenage defenders in the football league.

Derby have been solid at the back for large periods this season, the Rams have been leaking goals recently which haven’t been helped by an unprecedented number of injuries to key men.

The return of Rawson could have been a timely boost for McClaren, especially given his form, but could still be an option for the play-offs if they are to miss out on automatic promotion .

Will be interest to see where Rawson and Hanson figure in the squad next season. Both have lots of potential, and our defence has hardly covered itself in glory this season.

Both with a bit of experience behind them, they could be knocking on the door, even more so if we're still in the championship.

Out of this current crop, who are we expecting to make the grade and progress to the first team? The next Hughes or huddlestone, who's going to be the next lee Holmes and drop down to lower leagues. And who's going to be the next Gary twigg and disappear off the face of the earth?

Possible first team - Rawson, Hanson, bunjaku, koblenz, calero

End up in the lower leagues - santos, Thomas, Bennett

Other ones like McDonald and guy I'm not sure about yet.

Did Gary twigg end up playing in Scotland?

Twigg still plays now in Northern Ireland, one time I honestly thought he was destined for big things.

Santos and Rawson score in a 2-0 win away at Newcastle, looking good for promotion as it stands

Excellent stuff, plus some of the players coming through to make cameo first team appearance, and Rawson with a very successful loan spell, been a good season.
