Robbie Savage

Press conference today at 1:30 pm, looks to be a done deal. I hope so, it will bring entertainment if nothing else. I can see the pro and anti Savage fans coming to blows on the terraces on saturday

Judging by his interview on Sky Sports he sounded like a man who was signing, he kept saying stuff like "we" have a tough job on, and seemed prepared to play for us in the Championship if/when we go down. So all is good for me.

Now we just need to sign Ben Thatcher and have the dirtiest team in the league

SAVAGE WILL COMPLETE MOVE AT 1PM
Posted on: Wed 09 Jan 2008

Midfielder Robbie Savage will complete the formailities of his move to Derby County and become a Rams player at 1pm today.

The 33-year-old will become a fully-registered member of Paul Jewell's squad once everything is finalised at 1pm and he will be given squad number 44.

Savage will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract for a fee in the region of £1.5m to complete his move from Blackburn Rovers.

Chairman Adam Pearson said: "I am delighted we have managed to sign Robbie Savage on a two-and-a-half year deal and I feel he will be a great success at this club.

"I am obviously aware of Robbie's previous relationship with the Pride Park crowd but I am also very sure that he has the ability and strength of character to repair very quickly any past history.

"We need as much fight and determination as we can pull together and I am sure Robbie will add those ingredients."

I think this is a great signing, hard working player who will change the attitude of the team hopefully. I know he may not be a fan favorite now, but if he plays well that will quickly he go away, he is one of those players you hate when playing against. Also, it's good to see he is willing to play in the Championship

He's taken a considerable pay cut to come here.

Maybe it's because I wasn't actually at the game, but it never really bothered me, and I've always said Savage is they type of player you want in your team. There are some who are still moaning about it, and saying stupid things like there going to rip up their season tickets

I have never particularly Robbie Savage, and playing for Leicester City never helps, also by the fact he is noted to be a bit of a prat to be honest!!!
But on the other hand, he is just the type of player we need at the moment, cause he willing to get stuck in and put his foot in where it hurts..... I think people are over-reacting, especially with ripping up these season tickets, seeeeeeeeeeems way over the top to be honest!!!!

Is really hoping one day we will create footballer's who are actually creative rather than have 'great' engines...is that hard to ask

Savage is a pit bull. Will harass and run all day, trying to tackle players as hard as he can. HE is fairly strong defensively and back in his Birmingham days he use to score a few freekicks

With Oakley going to Leicester, Savage must be favourite to get the Captains armband. Andy Todd is the only other option and ge's always injured.

nothing that we didnt know anyway

Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy has called former team-mate Robbie Savage "the worst player I have ever seen in my life", ahead of the Derby midfielder's return to Ewood Park on Saturday. "He has no skill at all," added McCarthy.
