Return of the Reserves
PLENTY IN RESERVE FOR 2007/08
Posted on: Thu 07 Jun 2007
Reserve team football makes a comeback to Derby County on Monday evenings in 2007/08 when opponents will include Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.
The Rams have listed Pride Park Stadium as their primary venue for Barclays Premiership Reserve League South home games, with Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium a second option.
Said the Rams' John Vicars: "In common with every other Premier League club, the Rams will be fielding a Reserve team next season and we are indebted to Ben Robinson at Burton Albion for allowing us to list the Brewers' stadium as a venue.
"We have nine home Reserve team games to fit in and there could be times when, due to first team requirements, we need to play away from Pride Park.
"The great thing during a season of exceptional demand on tickets for first team games is that Rams fans - particularly the younger ones - will get the opportunity to watch some top class action in the Reserve League."
Along with the Rams, the south section of the Barclays Premiership Reserve League will include current champions Reading, plus Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham, Portsmouth and newly-promoted Birmingham City.
