DERBY v Sheff Wed @ PPS 13.01.07

Back to the league then, looking too make it 4 wins on the trot, 3 in the league. I game we should be looking to win at home, but Wednesday are much better since Laws has come in.

Should be another big crowd, around the 30,000 mark I would expect as Wednesday are expected too bring about 5,000 again.

Looking forward too it, should be a good atmosphere as well.

Should be a cracker. A home win should be on the cards for County but they musnt get complacent. Hopefully Lupoli gets on the scoresheet. I will predict 2-0 Derby with Lupoli and Howard scoring.

Sheff Wed look as if they are a team on the rising at the moment, Brian Laws is doing a very good job with them, as they are looking to consolidate in the top half of the table!

I wonder if Fagan, will be involved at the weekend, hmmm also wonder where he will fit into this Derby team at the moment?...

Been on some wednesday sites, and found out that they've so far sold 3,500 tickets (that was yesterday) with a further 1000 to sell, won't quite be 5,000 then. I don't think the new board plan too ever give teams that many again, as it does mean giving them seats which are actually meant for home supporters.

Still a big following though.

Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday is set to be seen by another bumper Pride Park Stadium crowd.

As of 11am on Wednesday some 26,000 tickets had been sold for the match against Brian Laws' Owls - with a crowd of over 28,000 expected.

The visitors have sold around 4,000 of their allocation and have only a few hundred tickets left.

Last season's correspending fixture attracted a gate of 30,391, while this season's top figure so far came on Boxing Day when 31,920 saw the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

booooooooooo I want 30,000. Still posible I suppose 29,000 would still be good.

I don't think he will, he usually brings in new players quite slowly, he might do though.

With the new signings coming in, it should keep the old players on their toes as well, hopefully a big performance on the cards, I'm fairly confident and will say a 2-0 Derby win.

TEAM NEWS

Derby: New signings Craig Fagan and Stephen Pearson will be pushing for a place in boss Billy Davies's squad after arriving this week from Hull City and Celtic respectively.

Dean Leacock should also return after being rested for the FA Cup win against Wrexham while Arturo Lupoli will be hoping to hold on to his place after scoring a hat-trick in the same game.

Paul Boertien remains on the sidelines with his knee injury but otherwise Davies has plenty of options.

Owls: None available at the time of writing.

THE REFEREE

Clive Oliver heads down from Northumberland for his first visit to Pride Park since March 2005, when he officiated over the 1-0 win against Plymouth Argyle.

He was also in charge for this season's Carling Cup exit at Doncaster Rovers.

Oliver's card tally stands at 45 yellows and one red in 21 games during 2006/07

With the new signings all expected to play some part in the squad on saturday, I would expect Fagan, Pearson and Teale all at least to be in the 16 on saturday, with possibly Pearson even starting himself

2-0 Derby anways!!!!!!!!, Lupoli and Howard!!

Derby v Sheff Wed (Derby 4/5 Draw 9/4 Sheff Wed 3/1)

Derby will have new signings Stephen Pearson, Gary Teale and Craig Fagan in their squad for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

Dean Leacock is likely to make an instant return to Billy Davies' side after being rested last weekend.

Wednesday could be boosted by the return of defenders Richard Wood and John Hills after lengthy injury lay-offs.

Madjid Bougherra is also available after suspension and will challenge Graham Coughlan for a place in defence.

Skysports.com prediction 3-1

Even Sky are predicting us too score 3 goals these days, everyone's jumping on the promotion bandwagon it seems, I just hope the wheels don't come off.

They've won something like 4 on the trot away, but we had won 5 in a row at home before Wolves turned up, doesn't mean much when the game starts. It's hard to be anything but optimistic a a Derby fan at the moment

Derby remain second, but Birmingham still have yet to play their game, the Rams are currently on equal points

Attendance 28,936, another good one, don't think there will be many awat followings that will match Wednesday from now on, but I'm sure more Derby fans will sart turning up too keep the attendances up there.
