FA Cup 4th round - Bristol Rovers @ PPS 27.01.07

Well I've got some time too kill before Match of the Day starts, so I might as well get this on the go.

It's been a while since we've made the 5th round, so it would be nice,to get a nice easy game, like Forest at home I'd love one of the big 3 at home as well.

If not an away game at anyone from a diferent division, which will make for a cracking day out

Premiership side at home would be ideal, except for a team like Bolton of Sheffield United (if they are still in )

Sheff Utd lost 3-0 too Swansea

Watford are still in, them and Fulham as we played them a couple seasons ago I also wouldn't want.

The first ball to look out for in this afternoon's draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON is number nine - which has been allocated to Derby County.

Billy Davies's Rams earned their place in the hat for the last 32 by beating Wrexham 3-1 at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday.

And they will find out their opponents for the next stage when the draw takes place at 1.30pm at FA headquarters in London.

We'll have news of the draw plus reaction here at www.dcfc.co.uk to follow.

Other numbers to look out for are Premiership leaders Manchester United, who are 12, local rivals Nottingham Forest take 15, Arsenal - who put out holders Liverpool - are 18, while defending Premiership champions Chelsea are 31.

Home against Bristol Rovers, on paper another game should win, but I'm sure e played them in the 3rd round a few seaons back and we lost 3-1, Nathan Ellington got a hat trick, so nothing's for granted.

Rovers are the only League 2 side already threw too the 4th round, so they had someone at their training ground for the draw, and ex Ram Paul Trollope is the manager, he was around when we last had a good run too the Quarter final, an omen maybe

Steve Elliott is also at Rovers.

It's a bit like the last Nürnberg cup game against the 2nd Bundesliga team Unterhaching. Rather unattractive draw, but a really good chance to get through. Not bad for you.

Your so right

And it's all down too one man, sir Billy

In the Wrexham game, after they got one back, and then had a goal disallowed Wrexham we're all over us, Davies responded by taking Bob Malcolm a defensive midfielder off, and putting Ryan Smith a left winger on, they questioned the move on the radio as we we're under pressure, but we just got the ball out wide to Smith's feet all the time, and he ran rings round Wrexham and set up the 3rd goal.

Tickets will likely be 15 quid, as the club have explained that there's a rule that fa cup tickets can't be sold for any less than that, because the ticket money is shared between both clubs, both clubs have too agree on the ticket prices as well.

Home draw against League 2 opposition again, can't ask for much more if you want to progress, same result again will do.

Looks like Theo Streete could be the 3rd former Ram at Rovers, he's training with them at the moment, it'll be like a reunion, I wonder they'll get anymore in.

Leacock is suspended after picking up 5 yellow cards, , though he was rested in the 3rd round game, and it's probably the perfect game for him too miss, much better than him missing a league match, it might give Nyatanga a chance to get his foot back inthe door.

Think Leacock probably would have been rested again anyway, so it's worked out perfect.

Well with Burnley in the league on tuesday, Davies has said there will be some changes, so fringe players like Giles Barnes, Arturo Lupoli, Ryan Smith and Morten Bisgaard could be in for a game Matt Oakley coming back in as well maybe. We can put out a changed side that was as strong as the side was at the start of the season . . .

I think Davies as jimbo says, will try to play a few first teamers as well give the squad players a chance to impress, aka players like Ryan Smith!!

Yeah after the latest additions we really have built up a strong squad, still needs 2 defenders imo though, hopefully Tyrone Mears will be here this week, a full back who can play on both sides is just the ticket

Yeah Smith's a good player too have in your squad, not quite ready for regular 1st team football really, but stick him in for the odd appearance and he can make a diference.

You could argue that Billy Davies has the mentality of a Premiership manager rather than a manager in the lower leagues, by thinking of building a big squad rather than buying specific players to play incase of injury or a player getting sold!!

Often though the success of a manager, is based on what finance's the board give their manager, but a part of me wonders, Davies is starting to build a squad now in the Championship for the Premiership because of the financial backing he has at the moment!!
