DERBY v Crystal Palace @ PPS 16.12.06

Despite winning our last 4 home games, the only convincing win we've had at home was the first one of the season against Southend, who you really should be beating convincingly, 3 of the 4 we've come from 1-0 down and playing badly too pulling the result out of nowhere, the other one the 1-0 win over Leicester which wasn't hugely convincing either.

Palace aren't doing well, so there's the opportunity too get another win, but hopefully we can see a big home performance as well.

Yeah I think we havnt been convincing at home apart from that one game VS Southend, but then like Mcminn said one of these days a team is gonna come to Pride Park, and get absolutley stuffed

Who knows, this could be the game , but nevertheless I would expect us to get the 3 points on the saturday!!!

Bob Malcolm could be back in contention after making a speedy recovery from his ankle injury, quite amazing as he was expected to be out untill mid january.

It is a surprise too see Malcolm back so soon, it's good as well,as he's a straight swap with Seth Johnson, quite a few games recently he's come of near the end because he's tired and been replaced by someone like Bisgaard, when it's at a stage in the game when we need a more solid defensive player.

Yeah, it's quite funny how we're talking about not doing well at home, yet our record reads played 10, won 5 drew 3 lost 2.

Derby: Boss Billy Davies is hoping to be able to welcome Bob Malcolm back into his squad for Saturday's game.

Malcolm hasn't played since the 3-0 win over Southend in September due to an ankle injury and was expected to be out until January.

But the Scotsman has made a quicker than expected recovery and is pushing hard for a return to the team after coming through training with no adverse effects.

That would give Davies a full set of players to choose from and give him plenty of options as he looks to build on recent good form.

Palace: The Eagles have lost on-loan goalkeeper Iain Turner, who has gone back to parent club Everton for treatment on a groin strain.

Scott Flinders, Gabor Kiraly and Julian Speroni are in a three-way battle to take over at Pride Park. Danny Butterfield and Dougie Freedman both missed out on the defeat to Colchester United with groin injuries, while James Scowcroft (suspension) and Carl Fletcher (illness) made their comebacks at the weekend.

Former Derby winger Marco Reich is out of favour under new boss Peter Taylor and has made only three league appearances this season.

THE REFEREE

Yorkshireman Jonathan Moss is in only his second season on the Football League list and takes charge of the Rams for the first time.

He is also yet to officiate a Palace game.

This season, Moss has issued 50 yellow cards and added three dismissals in his 20 matches.

I'm predicting a 1-0 win, Palace are their for the beating, but I don't think it will be the great performance we're waiting for, just a solid home win.

On my first saturday home in Derby in a long long while, we play a very very underachieveg Crystal Palace who I think are there for the taking to be honest...

Not really playing with any sort of cofidence at the moment, sooo I'm gonna slight for a 3-1 Derby win, with Stead, Barnes and Lupoli to score

Isn't it nice when you its so easy for you to pick goalscoreres for once

Not done a team post this week, and with Howard being suspended, there's some questins too be asked, so here we go.

Will we go 4-4-2 with Stead and Lupoli up front, which I hope we do.

Or will it be 4-5-1 still with Stead getting the central role and Bisgaard, Barnes, Lupoli and Smith fighting it out for the 2 wide roles.

Think that's the only question Moore should keep his place in an unchanged backline, and the midfield 3 of Seth, Jones and Oakley should stay the same.

Its nice where when you hear other fan's talk about Davies in that way *cough cough*, Im sure if they had Davies as their manager they would not be whining at all!!!

Can't wait for tomorrow now, really gonna look forward to this one, Sky have already started it off by saying, that Davies's strong Derby side want to put more pressure on Birmingham at the top of the Championship!!

Well another win First half we was brilliant, passing the ball around like a Premiership side, 2nd half we looked clueless most of the time, but we had got the goal, from what was a wonderful move, finished off by Jones who was the man of the match IMO and then second off we shut the game out, the defence suddenly has gone from looking a shambles too being rock solid, Dean Leacock is my hero

We must be closing in on last years points totla already

We're starting too pass the ball well in spells now, which is promising, still yet too see it for a full 90 minutes dominating the game, if it happens we will go up.

what I like is the distance from the teams like Stoke, WBA, Burnley, but in this league, teams swap positions quickly. We do have margain for error but again, I want to win them all! p

Another 1-0 win. I'd take another 23 of those no problem.
