FA Cup 3rd round - Wrexham @ PPS 6.1.07

It's FA Cup third round draw time on Sunday afternoon - one of the most eagerly-awaited dates of the football calendar.

It's the moment when Derby County go into the hat with all of the other Championship and Premiership teams, alongside the League 1, League 2 and non-league teams who have made it through the earlier rounds.

The Rams are number 14 in the draw, which will be made at approximately 3.15pm, and you'll get to find out who we play with www.dcfc.co.uk.

At this stage of the competition last season Derby drew Burnley at home, and went through 2-1 thanks to a Paul Peschisolido double.

Personally,

1st choice - Forest away

2nd choice - Forest Home

3rd choice - Forest anywhere

is it impossible to get a Premiership team in the third round? don't get the English style of the draw, in most countries they use seeded vs. unseeded teams

1st choice: Forest home
2nd choice: Chelsea home
3rd choice: ManU home
4th choice: Burton away p

There's no seeding in the FA cup, you can draw anyone.

Oh and Burton have already been knocked out

I think its better that there is no seeding. If there was, small clubs couldnt progress.

p.s. Well, sorry out of topic but I am just wondering if that guy in your avatar is Jon Stead or who is he?

Yeah the seedings crap, they've started doing it with the League cup, I don't like it at all.

And yes it is Jon Stead.

But you know its a tradition and I think its beautiful like that. I love FA Cup but it seems big clubs cant be bothered to play in it eh.

I think the big clubs do still look at it as something to win, it just doesn't take priotity like it used too, which is a shame. But the thing that makes it so special is the chances it gives the little clubs, that will never change, look at Millwall making the final in 04.

I think the F.A Cup still has a special place in the make up of the English game I think... maybe not as much as it did like 10 years ago when the final was played at Wembley but teams still value this competition highly

I wouln't really mind who we play to be honest, it depends how we take this competition either we take Premiership club just to get some decent football played at Pride Park, or we can travel to another Premiership ground... Or we say well lets try and get as far as we can and hopefully draw a lower league team or something and then take it from there here's a team who we might have a chance against I reckon if we played them away from home.... Newcastle perhaps!!

Just sumthin to think about there

FA Cup is still somewhat serious comparing to other cups, look at the Coppa Italia, its basically the Milan, Inter etc.. youth teams

On paper it should be an easy win...on paper. Might actually go to this one, never seen us play Wrexham before, so it could be interesting. Not bothered the last couple of years, after we had dull draws with other clubs in the same league.

Small team at home, which should mean too progression to the next round, what you want really.

Yeah echoing Neil's points, I would like to see progression into the 4th round here, and then possibly draw a Premiership team in the next round

Another one like Fulham away, like we had 2 seasons ago, that was such a great day, they seem to be very rare for us though, we always get boring draws

Still a decent draw Id say for now to try and progress. Hopefully Lupoli has a good competition here. Match is still a long way away though.

When the weekend comes and I'm putting my bet on, I won't even think about putting any money on Derby, We are a terrible cup side, I remember a few tears back we lost 3-0 too Bristol Rovers at Pride Park, Brentford was another one, Colchester last season

Jimbo's right, we have a terrible record in the cups, I bet we lose 1-0 from a Darren Ferguson free kick
