DERBY v Ipswich @ PPS 29.11.06

Looking for 6 wins in a row, and it is great chance to get it, against what looks to be an average Ipswich team. I'll be working for the game so it will be a headphones in with the radio on, wednesday.

If we do manage to beat Ipswich it would make it 6 wins on the trot, which would be just unbelievelble!!!!!!...
I think we gotta take into account that Davies just wanted to consolidate this season but instead we have taken this league by storm!!!!

I'm glad good times are starting to come bk to Pride Park again to be honest because of all the turmoil that the club has gone through has been nuffin short of disgraceful

Its also good because I always have a big smile on my face now in the corridor at university, they all are getting annoyed because of my so called cockiness

Continue the winning ways I say!!

Ipswich is a very winable, and dare I say it, one we really need to win, because it's West Brom away which will be tough, and then Leeds away, there not having a great time, but it's another of those places we always struggle, we also go to Burnley in December, as well as home games v Palace, Wolves & Plymouth.

3 very tough away trips, so we want as many points as possible from the home game, even though we could lose a game and still not go down a place

Derby: Rams boss Billy Davies has the luxury of being able to choose from an almost fully-fit squad to take on Ipswich.

Bob Malcolm is definitely still out with his ankle injury, while Davies's only other injury doubt is striker Paul Peschisolido, who is recovering from a thigh problem.

Ipswich: Town have lost young defender Matthew Bates, who has returned to parent club Middlesbrough after his loan spell was cut short by a serious knee injury sustained in Saturday's defeat at Barnsley.

Midfielder Gavin Williams made the bench for the Barnsley game and will play in a Suffolk County Cup tie on Tuesday as he continues to recover from a hernia.

Williams appeared as a sub at Oakwell, as did Owen Garvan for his first appearance of the season following a serious bout of shingles.

Striker Billy Clarke, 18, missed out due to an ankle injury but may be fit to take on the Rams.

THE REFEREE

Essex official Ray Lee has a yellow card average of over four per game this season.

The Brentwood whistle-blower, who is yet to take charge of the Rams in his career, has dished out 50 cautions in his 12 matches in 2006/07.

Wednesday's encounter will be only his third Championship assignment.

Good luck tonight! I think you'll win this game. That would already be the 6th win in a row? wow, unbelievable. With 3 points today you're already equal with Cardiff.

I've always said I thought Cardiff would drop away from the top, they'll finish 5th or 6th, or if it really goes wrong further down, the most pleasing thing is we'd only be 1 point behind Preston, who I fancy for the title, would be amazing, hopefully Soton can beat Birmingham tonight as well

The last 5 games between Derby and Ipswich at Pride Park

Derby 3-3 Ipswich (2-11-05)
Derby 3-2 Ipswich (14-8-04)
Derby 2-2 Ipswich (8-11-03)
Derby 1-4 Ipswich (4-5-03)
Derby 1-3 Ipswich (19-5-01)

A good possibility of a few goals then

Seems there's always goals in this one, I'll predict a 2-1 Derby win then

if you don't win then you're shit!... we have no fullbacks and half our defenders are dead/dying... also, superstar Billy Clarke is far from 100%... it's a shame cause if we had a full squad we could easily give you a good game, now i'm not so sure...

i'll go for Derby 5-5 Ipswich.... 4-5 if i'm optamistic

The thing is, these are the sort of games we do tend too slip up in, hopefully not so with Davies as manager.

I'm confident though, 2-1 Derby Stead again, and Lupoli from the bench.

I think Jimbo hit the nail on the coin there, as in recent years games like this we tend to struggle in big time :undecide:

But I think a main difference is, we are winning the close games this season and Davies making postive subs at the right time , I think this is a game we ought to be winning in fairness because Ipswich have struggled away from home at late, I was checking their form they have only won 2 games on their travels this season and concede a lot of goals as well

I think im gonna tip a 3-0 win, because this could be a game where everyone is on form and shows the league that we are actually going to be a force to reckoned with

Stead, Barnes and Howard I'm gonna tip to score!!!

what do you mean "games like this"? we are not a bottom half of the table side, we are easily play-off potential, just under-performing in recent games and in the first few games, we were the top team in October...

If you say so, personally I tipped you too get relegated The team you put out tonight is nowhere near good enough for the play offs, you've got players too come back, but I don't expect you too challenge this season, it will take time for Magilton too rebuild, I personally hope he gets the time as well, a great player, you'd think he would try and get you back too the great footballing teams that the old Ipswich sides were.

There will never be a time when Derby County play Ipswich at home and expect anything less than all 3 points, we made hard work of it tonight though, we're still not performing well in hom,e games, but somehow keep managing too win somehow. I thought our luck was running out tonight with Howards dissallowed goal, and thm scoring straight from there, but Howard got his goal, and great too see Lupoli back on the scoresheet
