Colchester v DERBY (@ Layer Road 26.08.06)

Scene of cup misery last season, sure we'll do much better in the league, they're pointless so far, so lets keep that way come saturday night

Regular discussion on the DET message board is the team for each game, these days so here's my opinion...

If all are fit...

Bywater

Edworthy - Nyatanga - Johnson - Camara

Barnes - Bolder - Bisgaard - R Smith

Howard - Lupoli

Keeper could return
Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater could return for Derby County in Saturday's Championship clash against Colchester United, writes Steve Nicholson.

Bywater missed the Carling Cup victory over Stockport County with a slight groin strain and Lee Camp stepped in.

Camp kept a clean sheet as the Rams reached the second round for the first time in four years but Bywater (pictured below) is likely to be available for the game at Layer Road.

"Stephen shouldn't be far away, nor will Dean Leacock, hopefully, and Richard Jackson is touch and go," said manager Billy Davies.

Defenders Leacock (hamstring) and Jackson (calf) have sat out the last two games, along with skipper and midfielder Matt Oakley (groin/thigh).

Davies says the Colchester fixture may come round too soon for Oakley and central defender Darren Moore, who is nursing a hamstring problem.

"The two-week international break after the Colchester game will hopefully give the players time to recover in time for our home game against Sunderland," said Davies

I hope Bywater's back, it wasn't exactly dificult for Camp too keep a clean sheet against Stockport.

When we played them last season, it was in the cup we're we've always seemed to do bad, apart from this week, and it was when Brown had completely lost the plot, I think it will be a diferent story in a league game.

Colchester v Derby (Home 11/8 Draw 11/5 Away 13/8)

Colchester have endured a difficult start to life in The Championship and they entertain Derby sweating on the fitness of Johnnie Jackson, who has missed the last two games with a thigh injury.

George Elokobi is ruled out through suspension, meaning either John White or Chris Barker will win a starting berth. Goalkeeper Aidan Davison makes a return after being handed a rest in midweek.

Derby have several injury concerns for their trip to Layer Road as Richard Jackson is rated only 50/50 to be able to play with a calf complaint and Paul Telfer (thigh) is all but certain to miss out - joining Darren Moore (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater will replace Lee Camp after recovering from a groin injury and he could be joined by Dean Leacock, who is also making good progress.

Skysports.com prediction: 0-1

I will always love Jimbo's optimisim about Lupolic bagging a Hat-trick everytime he steps onto the pitch . Hmmmmm I'm quite looking forward to this game, because we really should be expected to win this game, as Colchester have made a pretty poor start to the season

So there is an expectation of going to a game, and picking up the 3 points. I think I'm gonna go for a 2-1 Rams win , but on the otherhand I would be very disappointed coming away from Layer Road without anything  !

these "easy" games are never easy for Derby but I'm quite confident with this team and I will say a 2:0 win for Derby

team and subs...

Rams: Camp, Leacock, Nyatanga, Johnson M, Camara, Barnes, Idiakez, Bisgaard, Smith R, Lupoli, Howard.

Subs: Grant, Peschisolido, Smith T, Johnson S, Edworthy.

Lupoli starting Bisgaard wide right, but him and Barnes can swap around. Leacocks in, Still no Bywater.

Cureton scores two goals in two minutes as Colchester take a 2:0 lead, can't see Derby coming back from this as surely Colchester will shut it down

2:1 at halftime, that late goal should give us some confidence in the second half but I still can't see Derby winning this match, hopefully we can at least get a draw

Depends what we do 2nd half, I think we could do with Smith and Seth coming on, Colchester have lost every game this season, so if we can get an equaliser, I think we can go on too win.

The defence is a shambles still though, which is a worry.
