Ipswich v Derby

No chance I'm venturing miles out into the wilderness too watch a meaningless game. There in bad from, but we never win there, still hope we win just too get that elusive away win.

I know Moore can't play again, and it's expected Addison will start a 2nd game in a row.

I expect a loss, Derby won't be too motivated to win I think

Peschisolido is now injured, so the only recognised forward I can think of is Ashton, not including Smith, so surely Smith will have too go back up front.

Its pretty pathetic that the club only has 1 recognised forward, this postion needs urgent attention in the summer, we need to buy at least 2 forwards!!!!!

It'll be interesting too hear the team when it's announced.

If Tommy Smith continues his hot-shot form today, he will become the first Derby County player since Fabrizio Ravanelli to score in four consecutive matches.

Smith has notched in the last three games - the victory over Millwall and the draws against Queens Park Rangers and Hull City.

If he finds the net against Ipswich Town at Portman Road he will bridge a gap with Ravanelli (pictured below).

The Italian striker scored in five successive fixtures in October and November 2001. The first came in a Worthington Cup defeat at Fulham and he then scored in Premiership clashes against Tottenham Hotspur, Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and Middlesbrough.

Smith is set to make his 300th career appearance this afternoon and the 25-year-old has scored 64 goals.

His recent form has been praised by Terry Westley.

"What a return from Tommy in my 14 games as caretaker manager - he has been fantastic," said Westley.

"We have given him a bit more freedom to push further forward. We want him higher up the pitch where he can run at defences and get into positions to shoot or cross.

"When he gets wide or cuts inside there is always the possibility that something will happen."

Smith is on nine goals for the season and can still equal or better his tally of 11 last season.

Three Derby players have threatened to score in more than three consecutive game since Ravanelli.

Paul Peschisolido has twice been in a position to reach four.

Ravenelli scored 5 goals

Can see plenty of offers coming in for Tommy during the summer, especially with the form he's in now.

I think it will be a dull draw, 0-0 can't see how we're gonna score with no forwards lol

Half Time 0-0

We're playing quite well though, been the better side and had a few good chances, the games definately winable.

A pretty dire game overall, from two sides who want to see the back of this season sooner rather than later but putting the result to one side for a moment, it was very interesting listning to the Radio Derby interviews with both Michael Johnson and Terry Westley. The thing i found interestin, was thier honesty, in the way they feel in which the club was run, I feel as if its not just the fans who are tired of the old regime!!!!

no surprise, Derby aren't really motivated with a few games to go in the season as they already secure safety, I don't expect much away from home anyway
