DERBY V Southampton

Nothing less than 3 points will do. I don't want anymore draws, we've had enough of them for one season.

I want us to really attack Southampton on Sunday, I want us to go 4-4-2 and line up like this.

Camp

Kenna M Johnson Davies Edworthy

Bisgaard Idiakez Fadiga Whittingham

Peschisolido Smith

And I want us too just have a go, I doubt it will happen, Phil Browns a defender, he wants to keep the defence solid and give it protection, I just wish we'd really attack teams, that's what we're good at.

Im pretty confident for the game on sunday infront of the sky cameras, i think brown will give the 2 new lads debuts, i think if we really attack Southampton like jimbo says, we could get a couple of goals agains them.

My Prediction: 3-1 to Derby (Idiakez, Bisgarrd and Whittingham)

Last season we did better against the so called "better teams" so we might just give you something to smile about on Sunday.......don't be surprised if it's a draw though.

Stern John has signed and will probably play on Sunday at some point.....interesting fact, he has scored on his debut for every English club he has played for (Forest , Birmingham & Coventry) lets have one on Sunday then Stern

I think it's time for Derby to get a long deserved win after all these draws we've been seeing in recent weeks. I'm gonna go with 2-0 Derby Smith and Stern John will score the goals

Eveyone in Derby's got the Rams down for a draw on the pools/betting coupon

Though I too think we will just sneak a win out of this one. 2-1, Tommy Smith to get his long overdur first of the season, and Fadiga to get the winner. I have a feeling Danny Higgingbotham will score a screamer from about 30 yards as well, him or Delap will get there goal.

No wait, Stern John's keeping up his record of scoring on his debut for teams in England, it will have to be 3-1 then

A bit of info about this match.

You can go back as far as the last year of the 19th Century for the first meeting between Southampton and the Rams - a 2-1 away victory for Derby in February 1899.

That was an FA Cup tie, but it wasn't until 1922 that they met in league action with an old Division Two clash that the Saints won 2-0 at the Baseball Ground.

In 1971/72, under Brian Clough, the Rams won one of the two meetings and drew the other, on their way to their first-ever Football League championship.

Southampton had been relegated by the time 74/75 came around but the two teams were drawn against each other in the League Cup, and at The Dell it was the home side who recorded a 5-0 giant-killing.

The 60 meetings have produced an impressive tally of 185 goals, with Derby having registered 25 wins, Southampton 18, and 17 draws.

----------------------------------------------------------------

So if History is anything to go by, we have a good chance of winning, and there should be a few goals, that'll do nicely

well this is the start of a tough stretch of games and confidence is low, I wouldn't be surprised to see another 1-1 draw.

The squad for tomorrows game...

Derby County (from): Camp, Edworthy, Kenna, Davies, M Johnson, Whittingham, S Johnson, Bisgaard, Thirlwell, Idiakez, Fadiga, Bolder, Smith, John, Tudgay, Peschisolido, J Jackson, El Hamdaoui, Poole.

Now that is a squad, apart from Poole, but he's only in because Grant is Injured, that is a quality squad for this division, and has every chance of doing well in this division, it's stronger than last season's squad. If only they were all permanent signings, that would be very nice.

Alot of new faces, I wonder how many will play tomorrow, you don't want to be making to many changes, the team might not gel together straight away.

True, I wouldn't mind seeing J Jackson or Whittingham at left back, and 1 or maybe even both the new strikers up front. The midfield ahs been good and doesn't need drastic changes.

a derby defeat would complete a perfect weekend for me.

come on Saints!

I've been told you can only have 5 loan players in a match squad, and we have 6 of them so 1 player will miss out, I think one of Whittingham & J Jackson will start and the other will miss out.

unbelieveable, again we concede when we were on the verge of winning. Davies scored to make it 2-1 but even with 10 men Fuller scores
