Mills Heads To Dons

Pablo Mills

Defender Pablo Mills has joined League One side MK Dons on a loan deal until Christmas.

The 21-year-old centre-half has made the switch to the National Hockey Stadium just in time to beat Wednesday's transfer window deadline.

Mills will join up with former Derby team-mate Izale McLeod at the Dons, who completed the deal with not long to spare.

Mills broke through into the Derby first-team in late 2002 under then-manager John Gregory having graduated from the Academy production line, and at the end of that season took home the Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Year Award.

He was in and out of the team under George Burley for the last two seasons but never let the Rams down when called upon.

Phil Brown obviously didn't see him in the immediate plans, he would only be needed if Davies goes back to Boro, which can't happen untill Christmas, in which case Mills would be back at Derby. So it seems a decent deal, it will be could for Mills to get a good run of games as well.

He needs to lose some weight, he's too fat and slow. Solid defender and good header of the ball, but any forward with pace can run rings around him.

Seeing as im based at Walsall, me n ne mate, had this bright idea, about going to watch walsall today. They are playing MK Dons, and it jus occured to me, that Mills will probably be starting up for the Dons. I will give a review on how we played after i get in!!!, but i will watching him with interest, to see how he looks in league 1, and has he improved whilst playing at Mk Dons.
