Preston North End vs. DERBY

Well after our 1-1 draw at home against Brighton, Derby will already have to play their second match of the season Monday night against the team who knocked them out of the playoffs last season. Preston come off a nice 2-1 win over Watford away.
Tough match for Derby, a point would be good.

I like Preston.

We always get thumped at Preston, so I'm not very optimistic, I too would be very happy to get a point.

a point would be the best result, if we give a preston a head start, they will destroy us, but im gonna predict a 1-1 draw

No news on whether Kenna has recovered from his injury yet, so the defence will probably stay the same for this match. I have a feeling there might be one change, Bolder coming in for Peschisolido, and we will go with a more defensive approach for this game, and maybe most away games. It would affect us going forward, but a battling draw could be our best bet, so there might be this change.

Think I'll follow the trend and go for a 1-1 draw, Rasiak will get his 1st goal of the season.

A predicted score.....hmmm I think I will be diferent and go for the 0-0 bore draw, for the sky cameras, but that will do me, I can't watch the game anyway, cuz i'll be at work.

Jeff Kenna is too have a fitness test before the game, and if he passes he's expected to replace Richard Jackson in the starting 11. I think it would be harsh on Jacko who had a good game on saturday, and a fully fit Jackson is better than a just about able to play Kenna who is getting on a bit. But I suppose Phil Brown wants his captain out on the pitch.

There's talk that Andrew Davies might be rested because Phil Brown thought he looked tired in the 2nd half against Brighton. He was our best defender we don't him being rested.

How is Davies a starter but not Holmes? Not an expert on Derby players though.

LOL! Just as I was writing this Davies runs into his keeper for a Nugent goal. Don't rate that guy too much.

Er because Davies is a centre back, and Holmes is a left winger, where Tommy Smith and Morten Bisgaard are better, though Holmes should be used more as a sub, when teams get tired.

When Holmes has started in the past, he's been muscled off the ball far too easily, but as he gets older hopefully he will get stronger.

1-1 it finished then, some good predicting from you guys. We gave away a sloppy goal again, whicch is disapointing, because we've been defending quite well, much better than we did last year, we've just got to cut out the mistakes, but overall I'm pleased with the back four.

From what I hear the penalty shouldn't have been...but we should have had one on saturday and didn't, so that evens that one up

Would have taken a point before the game, so I'm a happy man tonight

I wasn't thinking of them playing in the same position just youth quality deciding who starts. This is about the age when he should be breaking into the team, going to be hard to improve on ten minutes here and there. Anyway, I think I'm more in shock that Davies has got a starting position... one of the slowest centerbacks I have seen in a while.

Congrats on the point. The penalty could go either way, some would say the ball wasn't in the players control so shouldn't be given. I think it was a pen though.

Really????? At the game on Saturday I was impressed with his pace, and thought thank f**k we've got a centre back who can run at last, I promise you this much, He's faster than Mills and Konjic. We can't all have John Terry at the back you know, Davies looks a good player for this division too me.

Yeas Holmes needs games, that's why he went on loan to Swindon last season, but we can't afford to do that with our squad depth at the moment, and Smith and Bisgaard are the 1st choice wingers at the moment, Holmes will have to try and fight his way into the 1st team.

And thanks for the congrats

I only watched the last 20 minutes of the game and during that time Preston was dominating had a few chances to score but they couldnt finish, they had one chance at the end of a free kick cross but the players in the box just missed getting to the ball by inches. I would say you guys should be pretty happy with the draw and the point.

Yes, it sounded like all out defence to me for the last 20, I was getting a bit of a nervous wreck, very happy with the point....WE'RE UNDEFEATED

Nice point against Preston, that'll do nicely. And an unbeaten start to the season, now just turn the draws into wins.
