Murdo Mackaay

It's been a hectic week for Mr Mackaay, Jeremy Kieth came out and said, Mackaay was the reason Burley left (Burley has not confirmed that, and it's still open for debate) So Mackaay handed in his resignation, as did Burley, but the Board have not yet accepted this resignation.

And I don't think they will, the board have said Mackaay is helping them look for a new manager. The Director of Football role always seems to bring trouble, but at Derby it also has brought lot of good players, Rasiak, Idiakez, Smith etc...

But once again will a new manager coming in want Mackaay there? As Mackaay is the stepping stone between Board and manager, will a new manager have to put up with him, will he influence who gets the managers job? He's good at finding players too sign, but he needs too stay clear of what the mangers doing on the pitch.

I thought Mackaay resigned when fans "attacked" him at Pride Park?

He handed in his resignation, but it has not been accepted, I expect he will now stay on in the role. The bit of aggro he had with the fans was really aimed at the board who were no where to be seen, so he got the brunt of the anger.

Phil Brown has confirmed himself, that Murdo's job is safe, so he will be definately staying on at Derby, if he helps bring in a couple more Idiakez and Rasiaks, it won't be a bad thing.
