Blackburn have got a young Watford keeper on loan for a season, so he won't be going there.

Rams manager Phil Brown plans to take a further look at midfielder Sekou Baradji after seeing him in action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Notts County.

The 21-year-old Frenchman is out of contract at Ligue 1 side Le Mans and played the full 90 minutes as Derby trounced a young Magpies side 8-1.

Baradji, a former France U19 international, showed plenty of good touches in a central role and impressed Brown enough to warrant further assessment.

"He's come through the game well and we will be keeping him on to have more of a look at him over the coming days," Brown confirmed to www.dcfc.co.uk.

In the Moor Farm encounter, Notts took an early lead before Derby turned it around to lead 5-1 by half-time thanks to goals from Marcus Tudgay and Lee Holmes, along with a hat-trick for assistant manager Dean Holdsworth.

Tudgay added three more in the second half, including a sublime 20-yard curling effort to go alongside his spectacular overhead kick before the break, to take his personal tally to four.

Not sure why we need another midfielder, but I suppose if he's good, get him in.

And get Holdsworth up front against Crewe lol DEANO! DEANO! DEANO!

Holdsworth hattrick?! wow

if this guy is good why not bring him in? seems like he has some talent. While listening to Radio Derby one caller talked about the Australian trialist that came in the summer and showed great talent. Who was he and why wasn't he signed?

Looking back at this thread, you must mean Carl Valeri, he got some good reports, but then was let go, I don't know why, could have been wage demands. Or because we couldn't sign him on untill someone had left (which has been the case this season with all signings) and he may not have been prepared to wait around.

Paul Thirwell signed a 3 year deal today, as he was originally here on loan, I think it was so he could play in the Brighton game, because they couldn't get a transfer done in time for the deadline for him to be able to play in that game. Something like that anyway.

They are scouring Europe for available players and chief scout Bob Shaw watched Saturday's World Cup qualifier between Iceland and Croatia. He is also planning to attend Spain's clash with Serbia and Montenegro on Wednesday.

probably looking at the Iceland players....don't think Derby can get any of our players

Marco Reich is training with Crystal Palace,, interesting bit of an interview below, which is basically what all the fans have been thinking.

Reich has no regrets about not accepting the offer of extending his contract.

"I had one-and-a-half good years at Derby," he said.

"We finished fourth and the next step was to repeat that or do better but I could sense change.

"The manager (George Burley) left and other players were not offered new deals.

"There was also the chance of selling the best players, like Grzegorz Rasiak and Inigo Idiakez.

"I was left asking myself 'what is the target of the club, having just finished fourth?' and so I moved on."

Derby are expected tomake 4 loan signings before the game against Crewe on sunday, all 4 from Premiership clubs. I have heard 3 names mentioned, Michael Brown (spurs) Danny Graham (Boro) and Ricardo Vaz Te (Bolton)

We might have plenty of midfielders, but I would love to see us sign Michael Brown.

Graham and Vaz Te are strikers, maybe not betetr than what we currently have, but at the moment we jsut need some players to make a squad.

if we got michael brown, that would be a surperb loan signing, but dont we have enough central midfielders already, i.e inigo, thirlwell and bolder??, well ne ways he would bring that extra quailty into the side

We defanately need defenders and strikers more than more midfielders, but if the opportunity is there to get someone like Brown, we have to take it IMO.

Oldham tried to get Mo Konjic on laon, but failed. No surprise, we really can't let anyone else go, or we won't have a squad.

There's been no loan signings yet, and doesn't look like there will be, Aliou Cisse was supposed to be one target, who is definately not coming now, and Shaun Bartlett another, who has gone to Norwich on loan instead. It's not looking good

Apparently the problem getting Aliou Cisse is that he has a slight injury problem at the moment. But if/when he recovers from it, he still could possibly join us on loan.

Phil Brown has had talks with the ex Forest striker Stern John, for a possible loan move from his current club Coventry.
