Fernando Couto, ethereal bad boy or misunderstood?

I vote for misunderstood. Sticking fingers up Cannavaro's nose is an old Portuguese way of figuring out manhood.

....There was also a conspiracy against Sporting to keep them out of 1st place by 26 points. The conspiracy is about to be revealed in a public judicial forum soon enough. It's hasn't anything to do with Golden whistles, but with Golden Showers, as Sporting Administration and coaching has conspired to piss all over themselves this season.

i thought he was trying to tell cannavaro that he had something hanging out his nose. nothing worse than walking around with a boogie on the edge of your nose. I suggest he was helping cannavaro with his TV image.

as for the kick in the head, i'd like to believe that he didn't see cannavaro.

shouldn't we give Couto the benefit of the doubt, TV evidence can be manipulated and used against you.

He's usually no angel, but lately the guy's really been pushing the envelope. I didn't see this incident, or the kick during the Sweden game, but this can only serve to predispose referees in future games to NOT give him the benefit of the doubt. I just hope he doesn't pay the price while he's wearing our shirt.

Well I think I'd need to actually see the things to know for sure. The kick could of been simply he didn't see him on the ground and while he was chasing the ball he hit em by accident, he could've purposely done it but theres NO way to judge having not seen it. As for the nose thing, I really have no idea how or WHY you would do that to another player even as a joke...

Couto is a total hack. He's widely regarded in Serie A as a butcher. Kind of like how non-portistas view Jorge Costa. I can't even beging to understand how a dude would put his fingers up another guy's nose. What a freak.

Well honestly Dae, if I offered you a chance at having any girl on this planet for you sticking your hands up some dude's nose you'd probably take it right?

Somehow, I don't think that is what Cannavaro had offered. Just a hunch.

hehehe
It looks like Fernando took his angry pills again !!!
Who knows if it was Mancini's ploy to give Couto a free run at upsetting Inter cause if he did It sure worked a treat for the 1st half hour !!
Couto's not one to take a backward step and in all honesty I wouldnt be surprised either if this was a payback !! ( wasnt Cannavaro the guy who kicked Couto in the head during a freindly a couple years back ?? )
Either way you cant condone his actions but he is the sort of player you'd love to have in your team !!

Love a player like Couto in my team ? No thanks. Nobody will like a player who behaved so rude even if his team is leading the game. What will happen if his team is losing the match, will he hit people or screw opponent's head ? and then send off by the referee ?

This guy is

Mancini is a great coach and Lazio is a good team. Couto should behave himself or he will damage his team's reputation.

I don't think they desided yet. But when they do, I bet they'll make it easy for the guy. Milan will try to buy him out of that problem.

Me Personally ... No I couldnt give a Rats arse & it gives him a rest for his ageing legs

& Couto himself will be most likely happy with a nice rest over Xmas after what has been a hectic schedule all year !!
