Benfica vs. Tondela

Last night I had this weird dream... Julio Cesar was in it, believe it or not. I was telling him I knew this woman from Lisbon who supported Benfica and then I asked him if he'd sign his autograph, I didn't have any paper on me or anything so I rolled up my shirt and asked if he'd sign his name on my arm. He was a real nice guy IIRC.

Anyhow. A game Benfica should win, of course.

awww thats so sweet

are u taking a bath now again jeff?

thanks

julio is injured, so for the coming weeks he wont be available, he has a good replacement in ederson though :thmbup:

as for the game, well yes we should, we have to win it, that's a given, but won't be an easy game, tondela is in the very last place with very small chances of escaping relegation, so this will be like their last breath sort of game, and they have nothing to lose really, while we do, so need to be very focused

I think there's been a misunderstanding... I haven't had a bath for many years. I did shower earlier tonight, though.

A must win to stay on top, rest some legs, let Talisca start, maybe Carcela too.
Looks like Lisandro is just about ready to come back, should be interesting

That should be a walk in the park, right?!

Glad Lisandro has recovered!
I watched the Benfica B game on saturday against Feirense. Hope they can somehow manage to stay up.
Who do you guys reckon will be the next one to be called up to the A team?

This season i'm watching the Benfica Home games through the Live Pass on the official website. Since Benfica sold the rights for broadcasting their home games from next season onward, i'm a little worried how i will be able to follow them then, apart from crappy streams.

In the US, we can pay for a couple of services online (Fubo or broadband.premiumsports.tv) that carry SportTV Americas and BTV. There is also Univision Deportes that carries the SportTV matches with Spanish commentary.

Ah, okay. But since I live in Vienna, Austria unfortunately that won't help me for next season. :-)
Have you listened to this weekly Benfica podcast in english yet?

not really, tondela is down at the bottom of the table , has nothing to lose, and will play the game of their lives, so we have to take it seriously, as always

its a must win game, but cant do "experiences" unless needed, at least not until the result is somehow sound

Everybody is always playing Benfica like it's their game of the season, since it IS their game of the season. Regardless of the standings in the table.
;-)
We'll find out tonight!

Goalkeepers: Ederson e Paulo Lopes;

Defenders: Lindelof, Eliseu, Jardel, André Almeida e Nélson Semedo;

Midfielders: Fejsa, Samaris, Gaitán, Salvio, Gonçalo Guedes, Pizzi, Talisca, Carcela;

Forwards: Raúl, Jonas, Luka Jovic e Mitroglou.

Starting XI. Feja instead of Samaris. Maybe he was celebrating the derby wins of Olympiacos against AEK (Basketball) and PAO (football) a little too excessiv last night. ;-)

The two negatives from the match were the 5th yellows to Jardel and Mitroglou. The latter's taking place after he scored a goal and took off his shirt. Pretty dumb with an away match next weekend. Jardel being out could be mitigated if Lisandro Lopez can play.
