Great pass from Ruben and even better goal from Rodrigo. Oblak had his first nervous moments, but never lost the plot. Spurs was playing well, but the goal took something out of them for about 10 minutes. They're a talented team going through a very difficult stretch.

great result, and a solid performance, well done

only saw the 2nd half, and honestly, if it wasnt for Spurs goalie, we could have scored a couple more goals

Luisão was massive both on defense and attack, Rodrigo is in great shape, and Fejsa showed that we can cope without Matic

Big up to those fans in London! i swear it sounded like we were playing at home

Great game by Benfica. Disappointing Spurs team.

Jesus could have been a better the sportsman. Be happy your team won, no need to air the bad blood with Villas Boas remains.

Not clear what AVB being a former Spurs coach would have led to his gesture. I'd say it was strange, but he's done that stuff before. He's very strange.

Aren't some of the remanent coaches there part of Villas Boas' staff?

Purely conjecture on my part, but if so, I can see the gloating (unprofessional and petty).

Looks like they were swinging dicks at each other from the opening kickoff. Both getting the ref to notice the other wasn't staying in their area. In that context, I don't mind what he did or Sherwood's reaction. Without the context, the whole thing comes across as what football players mock out futebol players for playing a sissy sport.

In fairness to him, perhaps that was triggered by Sherwood's own petty unsportsmanlike conduct as AXP suggested, although I'd have preferred he'd exercise better restraint.

If this was his first instance then I would agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, it is not.

Excellent analysis about one more sad moment of your coach:
