A very even game. The difference was Benfica taking full advantage of two chances. In the final third, Sporting looked like they regressed closer to their form vs. FCP than what they had done the prior two weeks weeks. The way Benfica has been scoring this year, it's a lot of pressure to put on the midfield and defense when you cannot finish any chance you do create.
To SLB's credit, they limited the chances that Sporting did get. They didn't looked to troubled on any set piece. As JJ said after the game, they have dominated all of their home matches this season; but they got the results.
Next week's match in Madeira is going to feel like a mini-final. Will be interesting to see if JJ holds to his claim that he will not be rotating players for the UEFA.
