LS R22 BENFICA vs Vitória de Guimarães

LIGA SAGRES ROUND 22 | 18:45 | SportTV1

Should be a great afternoon of football with over 40k spectators in the cathedral of football - the Estádio da Luz. Benfica have beaten Vitória over and over this season - 4 out of 4 - but no win can be taken for granted with Quique Flores. Plus, you can never underestimate a side with Manuel Cajuda and a squad of relatively good talent.

Probable starting 11

Moreira
Maxi - Luisão - Miguel Vítor - David Luiz
Katsouranis - Yebda
Di María - Aimar - Reyes
Cardozo

I will surely expect Guimaraes to roll over for you guys. Nuno Assis and Luis Filipe on free transfers, all the help in the courts to try and bring down Futebol Clube do Porto, Cajuda coming out and saying he's a full out Benfica fan...

I'll predict 4-0 for you guys.

That's right but as we could see it tonight, Vitória de Guimarães is a great club and they can't be put in the same bag of the Leixões, Nacionais, Bragas and similar sh*it satellites of the blue and white scum, that indeed roll over every time they face them.

lol, you do not remember that Leixoes have beaten us this year and Nacional gave us our first loss of the season last year?

Yikes Filipe, being a father has made you lose your memory. p

As always, wrong.

This was the 4th time Guimarães won at Luz. The last time was in 1996/97 when they've won 2-0.

The guy on SportTV said otherwise, but I'm sure you're right. You usually are with the useless stuff, but then clueless when it comes to actual football(see above).

you're just saying that because the cheating scum is filled by tus compatriotas but you should never forget where Chirola, and above all Beto Acosta, played one day!

nah for real this time (yeap I'm going to talk for real), there is virtually no team where are an argie at some moment didn't make some impact (only in england are many teams with zero argies or bad ones)...so it's not the case...in fact porcelain Pablo involve in this game is one of my favorite players and I hated how things went for him in a general view when I think how talented he was.

I hated Lazio in their glory days or the Valencia of Kily and Piojo...dos equipos que jamas me banque

I've said what I've said, because one thing is to mock a rival club for the sake of it (like when I told the Barca fans that they were ridiculous to try to shut down their "..laugh at Real madrid::" thread becasue they were in a bad period, there is no need of a good period to mock a rival, neither a bad period from them, tell Pila about those Porto cavemen...

but another thing is to actually act like every pun towards Porto has deep serious arguments to back it up, while primarly, you tend to not watch your own belly....Porto with zero argies with Mourinho and since those days have been pretty damn solid and with many attributes...

that they might be involve in bribes? I have no single doubt, because I don't trust any big club in the world to be clean in these matters...

pero muchachos todo el tiempo que si ganan es porke compran, ke si no es porke los rivales son de cuarta, que sino porke llovia, y si no porke.... vamos!! que densos!.

as usual, I love your rants, but this time amigo mio, you're not right.

The way Porto acts is the epithome of everything I hate in football, and more important than that, in real life. We're ruled by cheaters that pretend to be the most serious people around and I can't just keep my mouth shut when I spot one.

My reasons for nagging Joshua though are different from those of kleber.
Firstly I like to annoy him and the feeling is mutual but deep down he knows that I manage to feel a tiny bit of respect for him, in spite of thinking he must have a chronical neck problem due to the constant head up his arse position.

Secondly, on the contrary to kleber, I support a club with honour and pride, that manages to keep standing after being demolished in Europe and that doesn't have its fans burning its own flags and tarjetas de sócio, as it happened with the fans of a certain club that wears red one rainy afternoon in December 1987 in the old Alvalade...after another famous 1-7 thrashing.

Rui Costa gave Quique everything he needed to win the league - and that is the best players in the league, especially in depth. He even went as far as wasting 4 millions on Balboa, who Quique promissed to put on top form before the season's end. Right.

More embarassing than a 12-1 aggregate against a team behind Hertha in the german league is to be behind 5p0r71ng, a team of crybabies and losers whose only goal is to beat Benfica, no matter how many humiliations they suffer in that particular season.

Porto is a very weak champion, a squad who simply can't win at home against any half-decent team. Don't get me wrong, Porto are the best team this year but could easily have been defeated, had Benfica had a football manager and not a coward.

On a final note, almost 50,000 spectators in league of corruption is really something else.

The gloss is broken

The team of cry babies that lost against the team behind Hertha (that was a funny one!), managed to finish the league ahead the eternal "biggest and best and greatest and most popular team in the planet" for the last three seasons, and even with a squad three times cheaper than yours, will most possible do so a fourth consecutive time. That happened before Rui Costa returned as a player, during Rui Costa's time as a player and after Rui Costa finished as a player. But OK, I understand your need to quickly find a scapegoat.

You do not have the best players in the league.

In Porto's starting XI, there are 8 CLASS players, and 1 who is going to be class.

Hulk, Lisandro, Cebola, Lucho, Raul Meireles, Fucile, Bruno Alves, and Rolando are better than anything you guys have at those positions in my opinion. Fernando is going to be better than Paulo Assuncao at a younger age, he shits on Yebdas, Binyas, and whatever other garbage is at DM.

Quique is not a bad manager. Your squad is extremely poor. Porto and Sporting both have more depth and talent throughout the squads, and to be honest, Jorge Jesus' Braga isn't far off either. Hell, you had to score an illegal goal to beat them and David Luiz admitted it two weeks later.

This was the first time in a long, long time that we actually had great transfers. Last year everyone would laugh at the possibility of Benfica getting Reyes, Aimar and Suazo and, yet, here they are. Who are we to thank for that? Rui Costa.

If you think it's the need to find a scapegoat, be my guest. The fact is, Quique Flores hasn't made any progress this season. In fact, what we see is Benfica far from the quality shown at the beginning of the year. Instead of seeing progress, we actually watch Benfica sink deeper and deeper.

Add to that the dismissing of Léo, the best left-back of the portuguese league in the last decade, the public criticism of Reyes, the butchering of the 20+ goalscorer Cardozo - now just the odd substitute when Suazo is injured. Then Sidnei, two times taken off the team when others, such as David Luiz, are untouchable when making far worse mistakes.

Quique is the worst manager out of the top 3 and that is Rui Costa's first major failure as a football director. We invested on the team but neglected the most important position.

Do you think Reyes is better than Cristian Rodriguez? Suazo better than Hulk? Cardozo better than Lisandro? Aimar better than Lucho?

I don't.

Cardozo brings on alot of that with his bad attitude. Quique doesn't tolerate the bad attitudes. At least a guy like David Luiz is team oriented and fights every second, not walking off the field like Cardozo did against Academica last year.

The problem is the players. Too many inflated egos who don't work hard enough and fight on the pitch. You guys walk around for most of the game against the smaller teams, expecting the result to just come out of nowhere. There's no fight in these guys. Blame the coach if you want, but players like Reyes, Cardozo, etc. are proven lazy clowns.
