Still some injured players out, but today we started with:
Quim
Maxi Pereira - Luisão - Ed Carlos - Léo
Katsouranis - Bynia
Di Maria - Rui Costa - Cristian Rodriguez
Cardozo

Bynia and Ed Carlos will leave as soon as Petit and David Luiz return. Nuno Gomes is also out.
Adu will fight for minutes with Di Maria, Nuno Gomes and maybe Rui Costa.

We need to get him in more, because he's proven that with his skills he can change the game.

We should continue taking it slow with Adu because, other than the goals, he's still showing difficulties in adapting to our game.

Adu hasn't showed me much. He should continue to get playing time to get better but he's far from a finished product.

I can't imagine anyone showing much more than he has in the playing time he has had.

Who do you know is a finished product at 18?

Hardly. There's still a lot of descent left in her product. And the right one too.

No one said that he's a finished product, yeah it's great that he has scored 3 goals, one of them being from the spot but what i was really looking for was his positioning, dribble and the way he reads the game, DiMaria seems more developed in these areas.

Di Maria is definitely ahead of Adu in terms of footballing maturity, albeit he's older than Adu. But they are also different kind of players. Di maria is a natural winger while Adu's natural tendencies are to play in the middle as either a support striker or as a classic 10 - I don't think he's speedy enough to play the wings.

But that he isn't a finished product seems like overstating the obvious as a criticism, no?

You know very well what i mean.

He has been our saviour by scoring in the dying minutes - just like Mantorras used to do - but what qualities have of you seen of him to justify a position other than alongside Cardozo (because of the goals). Would you play him on the wings? He can't get past anyone, or at least he hasn't yet! In the middle? Why? Have you seen much creativity in his play? I for one haven't.

This doesn't mean he won't become a great player. I'm sure he will, but, right now, he's just a guy with potential with a lot to learn.
