2nd league game tonight, 1st one with camacho...wont be easy against a returned Guimarães, always very motivated, and with our team in the shambles that it is...but i trust we'll pull a win tonight and this will be the 1st night of the rest of the league bla bla bla

players called by camacho:

Goalies: Quim , Butt

Defenders: Léo, Nelson, Miguelito, Miguel Vítor , Luís Filipe

Midfielders: Katsouranis, Andrés Diaz, Adu, Petit, Rui Costa, Fábio Coentrão, Nuno Assis , Romeu Ribeiro

Forwards: Nuno Gomes, Cardozo , Bergessio

the game will take place at 19.15h GMT, broadcasted by TVI, and most likely i wont be able to watch it, so im counting on the reports of those who do

We could have done better with 3 blatant chances missed from Nunoid, Coentrao ( who had a good game) and Luis Filipe while guimaraes didn't do shit. But I'm not that disappointed - the team clearly looked better than they did in Porto against Leixoes. The rookie, Miguel Vitor, didn't compromise.. And the midfield play controlled the match well. Clearly they are running for Camacho - that's good. Once he gets the wingers he wants, we won't have to put up with Assis anymore. And Luis Filipe can return to the bench and backup Nelson.

A building performance from Coentrao. If he learns to stay on his feet, he can develop well into a left winger. But my guess is that will belong to Di Maria soon. And Adu will slowly take over Nunoid's position. We need a right winger baaaaadddd! Baaaaddddd! That should be priority number one.

It was a start. We cant deny the team is in turmoil, were paying the penalty not disposing of Santos sooner. I believe Camacho will settle the team soon enough and we will hit form and begin to make a dent on the championship.

Great result for Guimaraes. They fought hard, almost scored on a free-kick and if Quim hadn't chosen to stay in the middle of the net, it would've gone in. No chance he would've reached that screamer if he was on the other side.

Yeah, I guess if he was on the other side... or behind the goal... or sitting down... or any other place other then the place he should be. And was.

It's not like it takes rocked science for him to figure it out.

ended up watching most of the game, and its clear there is a LOT of work to be done, simply because we are not playing like a team

there was a lot of anxiety in the air, the ball was probably burning the way the players were touching it and getting rid of it as fast as they possibly could, regardless of who was gonna get it...

dont think anyone played well, but its clear that we need a replacement CB fast so that kats can go back to playing in his position, a replacement for nuno assis is needed as he is not ( and never was) anything above average and doesnt belong in our team, and at least 1 quality winger is very needed as fabio coentrão needs to work ( and mature) a lot to become a starter

lots of work ahead for us, as from the look of it, its as if we didnt have a pre-season at all...wonder what they were doing during that time

How insightful - maybe if he stayed home sick and benfica played without a goalie, that would have been a sure goal.

And maybe of your aunt had balls she'd be your brother. You can't buy this kind of insight, folks.

I can't believe it, another championship vanished, it has been like this since years, when other teams would score, Benica won't or sure. Gosh, I'm pissed ... Good that Camacho is back at least, he can bring us back on track.

PS: Sorry, that I didn't write in here the past two months, I had a holidays-job in Cologne.

Thanks mate, good to see you around, how are you?
A whole month with plenty of free time lies ahead of me now, so I guess I can make up for my being away in the past weeks.

Very well thank you. I hope the current form of your team will not send you back to retirement for good.

i cant believe u guys lol

how can anyone possibly say a championship is lost after two games lol

EVEN if we had lost 10 - 0 in each of them lol which we didnt, we got two ties

things are looking shaky? no doubt, but saying the league is lost is part of a mentality i cant possibly share

Drama Queens.

It's feast or famine, ticker tape parade or falling sky with them. It's a weekly emotional, manic depressant rollercoaster - you're only as good as your last game. There's no long-term vision, no fortitude for the season's marathon.

But give them a few victories combined with a Jizzwaldo draw or loss and they'll be making plans for the parade with 9 months to go, you'll see.
