PSL - game 16 - Belenenses v Benfica

And we win it after 96 minutes 2:1, having Simão and Luisão subscribed to the scoresheet on our behalf, while Silas netted for the blue team.

And what else remains of the day?
Ja estamos a 5 pontos, pá!

PSL - Game 16 - Belenenses vs Benfica

Forgot to create a thread and nobody else did, but I guess "mais vale tarde que nunca".

The game just ended a few minutes a go and we started the League second turn with an important win away by 1-2.

Benfica played with: Quim; Nélson, Luisão, Anderson and Léo; Petit, Katsouranis (Beto, 90m), Karagounis and Rui Costa (Manu, 80m); Simão and Nuno Gomes (Mantorras, 90m).

Both goals scored in the first half with two assists by Rui Costa.

Not your typical Benfica game, because Belenenses decided to take control of the game even before they were trailing behind, but it proved to that idiot Jorge "Fair-play is crap" Jesus that we're just better at playing their style then they are at playing ours.

We're now 5 points behind FC Porto, and placed extra pressure over Sporting that must win tomorrow to get the second place back.

I was actually writing a comment in the other thread congratulating you on being faster in opening the thread and suggesting a mod to merge them, but posting returned an invalid link.

You beat me twice in a couple of minutes. Just like Benfica today.

Well, yes, I'm the Lucky Luke of Xtratime.
But to be fair, one has to recognise that you wrote a bit more of a match report then I did, which should apologise the delay of only about a minute.

Belenenses realy play well in the midfield and attack,Jesus create a good team for such a low budget.

Simao, luisao and Rui Costa plyed realy well, again Karagounis was average to say the best.

Sporting likely will not win tomorow so we are in the second spot.

No, he's not retarded in the legal sense but he's a two-faced idiot like many coaches and managers in our league are. Why the fvck did he bring Quaresma up? And WTF did he, a day later, still has the nerve to say that Quaresma didn't deserve it?

This shlt is so blatantly obvious that pisses me off. It's like they're saying to us: "see, we think you guys are all retarded, so we will treat you like one, without an ounce of shame, honour or even bloody logic in what we say or do".

the reason why he is talking about quaresma's red ( which was totally correct) is the same reason as why belenenses didnt move their asses in the game against porto only comes to justify what happenned in that game

its pathetic how most of our coaches live obsessed with the refs.

today, if anything, there were two situations in which the ref might have had some dificulty taking a decision: one in each box....both decided well by the ref...other than that, if there can be any complaints, is about belenenses total lack of fair play

our coaches should just learn to say: we failed, full stop...be it for lack of luck, lack of quality of play , whatever...and when refs do screw up, ok, point it out...but point it out everytime they lose a game is pathetic

Why talk about fair play when you're not practicing it? Why's Quaresma's name being brought into this? Im sure that his player was also trying to caress ours.....

he's a retard.

thanks

He's no different than any other Portuguese coach (I'd take him over FS in a second). This is chronic with Portuguese coaches. Portugal is behind the times - all other 1st world federations impose fines on coaches who can't keep from talking about the officials to the media. In Portugal it's expected, after all, it's Portugal.

Kudos to the Defense who were absolutely solid. We were surgical in the counter and were very unfortunate we didn't put the other two blatant chances in.

Kudos also to Simao and Rui - they were termendous. Excellent win away to a difficult opponent. 5 points and counting - still time to fire FS and let Chalana finish the year.

Freedom is the great liberator of the mind – it threatens only the comfort of the sequacious intellect.

I'm fine with FS so far, he brings the results, that's what counts for me, his Benfica is more effective and consistent the Koeman's and Trapattonis'.

I agree, we are out of the CL, but I think we have a great shot at winning the UEFA cup, and very much in the hunt for the campeonato and the taca, all in all FS is doing a not so bad job.

O.T with Derlai coming on board, who gets benched?? Hopefully Nuno??

I fear it's Derlei who has to get used to the bench first and try to force his way into the team from there, though I'd like to see him start over Nuno too, as much as I like our no. 21, but I somehow feel Derlei can score more and we need his goals!

Sporting just lost 2 points against Boavista. Great weekend. We are now 5 points behind FC Porto and 1 point ahead of Sporting.

Yeah, suddenly things look good again for us, it's still 5 points, but Porto seem catchable now and Benfica unstoppable!
Força Benfica!
