well he finally recovered from his 2nd fairly long injury (lets hope he's fixed for good!), so this weekend he came in from the bench and scored the winner already in injury time

he looked alright, very mobile, taking lots of shots, aiming good, lets hope he keeps it up

Typical Miccoli then. Are you lot going to sign him for good or will he return to Italy? He was great when he first broke through into Serie A, but Juve as per usual, ruined him somewhat.

However he is a great player and if he can get a run until the end of the season I am sure his confidence will be back.

It would be great to see him play v Liverpool, at least as a sub, during the week.

Benfica have opened talks about making Fabrizio Miccoli's loan deal into a permanent move.

The Italian striker joined Benfica on loan from Juventus last summer after dropping down the pecking order at Stadio Delle Alpi.

Miccoli has impressed at Benfica during his loan stint and Ronald Koeman is keen to keep him at Estadio da Luz.

Juventus have admitted they are willing to sell Miccoli and Benfica are thought to be lining up a three-year deal for the diminutive hit-man.

Meanwhile, Miccoli has been included in the squad to face Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League this week after returning to action last weekend with the winner against Estrela Amadora.

yes, personally i would love to see us bidding for him, hes talented, hard working and humble, and he integrated very well into the team. Unfortunatetly he had a couple more or less long injuries which didnt allow him to contribute to the team as much as everyone would like to, but he already has a great connection with the fans

lets hope juve doesnt get too fussy and demanding

I agree with inacio; he's a very good player and we would love to keep him. Hopefully, Juventus doesn't won't try to screw us over with the cash. I doubt they will though, they have a number of strikers and a good amount of funds, so I think they would want to get rid of Miccoli as quickly as possible. There's no doubt about it, Del Piero, Ibrahimovic and even Trezeguet are having a good season in the Serie A. So there won't be any need for Miccoli there unless they want him to succeed Del Piero or something.

MI!
MI!
MICCOLI!

5 million euros is a lot of money, but it's better to spend 5 million on a great player than spending 2 or 3 on a player who turns up to be a disaster. Miccoli is happy to play for Benfica and we are happy to have him in our squad. Hope he'll stay with us.

There is the worry that he might not get called up to NT like this. But for his own good I'd rather see him do well in his stay in Portugal. Although I see him return to Italy sometime in the near future.

Screw the NT. He deserves a place where he is liked and so Benfica is the one for him I think. With Totti likely to retire from the NT after the summer and DP getting on, good performances in Portugal could still see him get the call. If he moves to a good Italian club, I only hope they give him an important role like he deserves. For some reason I can see him going to Sampdoria if Benfica do not wish to have him permenantly because Flachi may be leaving.

Miccoli ponders Benfica future Monday 20 March, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fabrizio Miccoli may snub a return to Italy in favour of signing a permanent deal in Portugal with Benfica.

The Juventus-owned player was believed to be initially keen on playing in Serie A again next season, but now seems to be pondering a long-term career in Lisbon.

“I’m thinking of Benfica when it comes to where I will be playing next season,” said the on-loan striker.

“If both Benfica and Juventus can reach some sort of agreement then I’d like to continue my career here.”

The European giants, who recently knocked holders Liverpool out of the Champions League with the help of a Miccoli goal, do have an option to sign the Italian on a permanent deal.

It is believed that they are seriously considering making an offer of around Ł4m to keep the former Ternana ace.

Miccoli, who also spent loan time at Perugia and Fiorentina while officially a Bianconeri player, could be offered a three-year contract.

Miccoli has also been linked with a move to England, while Sevilla were heavily associated with the Lecce-born starlet only last week.

"move to England, while Sevilla were heavily"

When did Sevilla become apart of England?

Anyway good luck to him on whatever career choice he makes. I have already stated I wouldnt mind see him stay in Portugal however he is great for Serie A should he return.
