Match 21: Leiria - Benfica

After the derby defeat Benfica will go out for nothing but 3 points in this match. Hopefully the players in red will get a vital win to keep their championship dreams alive.

So whats the word on Benficas line-up?

A short hint to lil Bier: the match is shown live at the Vicente Calderon down Lausen street... Just get back to me via SMS and I will get you a ticket

im still very upset with what happend a week ago, in particular with the person who makes the line-ups, etc etc

so i'm not in the mood to make a line-up, but they better win and win good :fero:

The press is mostly reporting:

Moretto
Nélson - Luisão - Rocha - Leo
Petit - Manuel Fernandes
Geovanni - Nuno Gomes - Simão
Marcel

My wish:

Moretto
Nélson - Luisão - Anderson (or Rocha, don't really care) - Leo
Petit
Karagounis - Manuel Fernandes
Geovanni - Nuno Gomes - Simão

Time to make up for dropping 3 points last week. Come on Nuno!

My wish is Quim, Simão and Mantorras in the starting line-up.

A short hint to lil Rod: answer my SMS, it's urgent, just read it now, since I had some charming visitor over here. See you at the Calderon.

Agora não, que joga o Benfica! (Deolinda)

I'll predict a 1-1, but if Benfica livens up their attacking game and stops defending non-stop, it should be 3-1 Benfica's favor.

1-0 Leiria, Joao Paulo.

Doesn't do justice for Benfica who have attacked well, IMO.

I agree, i can't blame the players for losing this game at ht since they played well. Let's see if they show the same attitude in the second half.

2-0 Leiria

Fabio Felicio

Leiria are starting to dominate into the second half, I'm surprised they didn't score before. Benfica have had loads of chances, but shot for shot, Leiria's have been precise.

Toure has been outstanding today for Leiria. Costinha having another great game against Benfica. Last year he held them to a draw I think it was?

How sad that all the hard work we put into our 9 game winning streak has been undone by two absolutely DIRE performances.

Nelson was horrible today (doing better now on the attacking side) and Luisao has been awful.

Rocha has played well though. Koeman should think about a Anderson-Rocha line-up instead of Luisao.

Robert has been impressive, which is a positive from this game.

I have a hard-time not cracking up at Nelson's afro.

Koeman should think about being stabbed in the face.
