they sure are

and tonight we have another key key game, that we must win!

i trust that after the last 2 games, and specially the CL one, the team is feeling more hyped than ever, and they will win tonight

im not sure about who will be playing tonight....alcides was awesome on the RB position in both times he played so....i got the feeling that koeman may try that scheme again....but then again, since luisao is out...we will need a CB in the bench....

nuno was awesome in the playmaker position but he is our main striker so i trust he will go back to that position. personally i didnt like to see nuno assis on the flanc...i think he performs much better behind the strikers....

the thing is....will we be playing geovanni in the forward position again? will we move him back to the right?

will karyaka be given a chance to play ahead of leo?

i think we will be keeping beto, since boavista is a tricky team, we cant go play with open chest, we ought to play with 2 DMs, at least for starters...nuno assis is not the kind of player who recovers balls, and that would leave petiit too much on his own

anyways, one thing is for sure, i hope we dont start neither miccoli nor karagounis, its their 1st game since their comeback, so i would rather see them play only towards the end of the game, we have to make sure they dont go back to the "estaleiro"

my team :

Code:

                     quim

nelson anderson ricardo rocha leo

                petit beto

geovanni nuno assis karyaka

                nuno gomes
BENFICAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Geovanni plays upfront again. Here's Koeman's line-up:

Quim; Alcides, Anderson, Ricardo Rocha e Léo; Petit e Beto; Nélson, Nuno Gomes e Nuno Assis; Geovanni

game over

its a pitty we didnt score any more goals, makes it a very very short victory when one looks at the total domain we had over boavista, but we played an amazing game tonight and it hardly seemed like those players had had a key CL game only 3 days ago, coz they were running like rabbits

Its a shame we didnt score more goals because Boavista came close on a few occasions towards the end of the match and it would have been a travesty to lose/draw this game after such a performance.

But a win and an important one. No we are above Sporting and Boavista while we also closed in on Braga after they were defeated at Pacos Ferreira earlier. Hopefully Setubal will drop points too so we can gain more ground on the top 4.

FORCAAAA BENFIIIICA!

Wow ... that sounds pretty impressive what I can read from you guys there. Hope Benfica can maintain that great form for as long as possible.
VIVA BENFICA!
But hey, Mantorras on for one minute? What's the sake of that?

well tbh, we were playing so well, no changes were really needed....koeman replaced nuno assis with dos santos towards the end of the game, which seemed a good move for me....i would actually have replaced maybe nelson or geovanni for mantorras closer to the end...just to refresh things upfront, and because nelson looked tired...geovanni looked tired too, but he was still running like hell (impressive game he had), but koeman chose to make the sub only to burn some time, already in discounts

nevertheless, it was enough for mantorras to make a foul in the attack

Tough times seem to lay ahead of Mantorras. :undecide:
Yet still good to hear Geovanni did well again.

yes, geovanni seems like a different player / man...he run all game long, and this after such a demanding game on wednesday

its good to see we are being able to cope with the fact that we have so many quality key players out of the team, and this must be a record number of victories (3?) without simao on the pitch

btw, a big up for luisao, who in spite of not being called (injury) made a point in staying with the team during the preparation of the game i already read people calling him our next mozer...well quality , team spirit and ability to motivate the fans he sure has

Let's not forget the fact that the man's only 24-25, he's not the captain but he sure brings the team together, it helps having someone like that with that many brazilians on the team. Surely makes them feel more at home.

Very true ... additionally Luisão in various opportunities expresses his loyalty to the club, even when some other big teams of Europe were after him, the likes of Real Madrid and Inter for example.
