And off we go to another derby, 3 days before a very important CL game

i think we can make it, it would be massive grabbing those 3 pts

i like ur line-up, quim is definetly back as moreira hasnt recovered from his knee injury

as for geovanni...i really dunno what to do there...i might take my bet on karagounis actually...geovanni has been such a disapointmenet in every game he has played :rollani:

i would definetly pick anderson over ricardo rocha, coz he always seems to lose his head against porto

maybe we could do something like this:

Code:

                  quim

nelson - luisão - anderson - leo

      petit - manuel fernandes

              karagounis

miccoli - nuno gomes - simão

Good news  ... though I hope it's nothing serious with Moreira and he will be back in shape again soon (I thought I read he's at 100% ... well portuguese sportspapers ). Quim will have to use this oportunity to show his value to the team and convince Koeman to offer him an extend run in the first team. I am however confident that he can do so. He's the best keeper in Portugal at the moment and this is the chance to not only convince Koeman but hopefully also impress Scolari who will most definately be among the spactators.
Força Quim!

Up to a certain degree I agree about Geovanni, it's just that I hope he will still increase and find back to his form, but so far he wasn't half the player he could be I reckon.

We have a chance to win this one,at least getting a draw;sadly looks like Pedro Emanuel is back and Sonkaya will not play. ,but ok,we still have Peixoto to attack, the problem is that Geovanni is not as his best. :depress: :frownani: .

Of course that the midfield and attack of Porto looks amazing,he can destroy anyone ,but we have Petit.

Congrats.

So, how did Porto perfrom on the night?

They seem to struggle at the back...

6 goals conceded against Rangers and Artmedia is quite a lot.

Any chance we can beat them on wednesday ?

Damn, so Koeman stays unbeaten once again against Co. Better even, he won in Porto. So after a bad start to the season the results are coming now.

Porto started the match dominant! Their first half was neither good not bad, but they are a unbelievably attacking side! That's the problem, because their defense is often too exposed. Their were completely dominated in the 2nd half, mostly after the 1st goal...

So, regarding your next match, you can win at Porto, but you can also lose heavilly!! It depends mostly on wheter you can hold them off in the 1st 20/30 minutes...

Nuno Gomes... wow. A great player, but he's a better faker. I can't believe Bruno Alves got a red card for the "altercation." I could understand if he was given it for trying to injure Gomes on two occasions. But for Nuno Gomes running into Bruno? No.

So when can we expect Ronald Koeman out of Benfica now?

9 games, seven wins for Koeman, 2 draws!! Humilliaton, anyone??

Yup! We're catching up!! Shame for Miccoli... Seems he'll be out for a couple of weeks.

what can i possibly say?????

what a game

14 years .....took us 14 years, but we beat porto away again!

Benfica played very very consistent! held porto back during the 1st half, and during the 2nd we were able to play faster and nuno gomes didnt fail

after scoring, we always kept the calm, kept playing like if it was 0-0, always with consistancy, and koeman was excelent tonight! excelent

i loved the starting line-up, quim was awesome on goal, luisao and anderson...damn! what a pair of CBs

nelson....that kid crosses like the best! leo, hes small, but he doesnt stop running, always fighting, always trying to gain the ball

manuel and petit did a game of sacrifice, totally filling in the midfield spaces, karagounis was our worst player tonight, very slow, but he showed some good moves during the first 20-25m

geovanni went unoticed most of the 1st half, but he had a good 2nd half

karyaka..what can i say? great sub from koeman, he came in for kara and he was excelent, he gave speed and he gave brain to our attacking moves, great game karyaka

simao was a fighter all game long, as usual

and nuno...what words can be told about nuno...he's better than ever...he played as the lone striker during 75m and he excelled he was awesome

i hope theres nothing too serious with miccoli's injury, we need u back soon fabrizi!!!

he wont play next tuesday against villareal though :

and koeman...u were excelent, excelent in the way u picked the players, excelent in the way u told them how to play, excelent in the way u made the substitutions...awesome

Congratulations Lampiões. You were the better side and fully deserved the win. Well done.
It seems that now it is Adriaanse that is in the same position of Koeman a month ago. Either he rethinks a few things, or I predict that he will be in Holland resting during Xmas... and New Year... and January... and...

OG, man, your youth injection is the best that could possibly happen to Nuno and to Benfica!

hope he conquers the goalgetter trophy this year ... he can beat his own record of 24 if things continue as they are now.

Yap, I eat my words about Koeman for a second time within few months now when saying: Koeman as Benfica coach can be one top-act

I'm so euphoric tonight.

Wow...I can't believe I missed the game I was at work all day. I arrive at home to receive the news from my father who was full of joy. Porto was talking mad smack of how Nuno Gomes never scored against them there and now he shut them up. We have a great form guys and after this win, we should be rolling on an ultimate high against Villareal. FORCA!!!

I agree. Totally absurd behaviour. It can actually be a blessing in disguise for Porto, because now he can't play for a few games.

And yeah, Adriaanse's reply was funny, even for a pissed off fan as myself. But isn't he technically correct? Didn't he actually say that if the fans wanted him to leave the club, they just had to wave the white things? It doesn't mean he'd do them the favour. Hehe.
