How is Anderson playing?

He was our best defender in the last two years and was our captain, but he went to Benfica. How he is playing now? Is he going well or he lost his good football?

he is playing great

very solid defender, very "clean", disciplined, hard working, definetly a great acquisition for us

and he has even scored a goal already

luisao has been the 1st choice for CB in every game, so anderson has been swaping with ricardo rocha for the 2nd spot...but since ricardo has played several games in a LB position, anderson has had more games in CB

i hope he keeps it up

Benfica this year has 3 fantastic center-backs, namely Luisão, Anderson and Ricardo Rocha.

Anderson is the type of player that i like, not excessively harsh on the tackles, doesn't risk too much and has great positioning. I would say that he could easily become our best center-back since Luisão doesn't use his over 1.90m to clear aerial balls and Ricardo Rocha is a bit too agressive for my taste (at least recently).

Well, I love it ... he has the spirit of an Argel but is yet a class better.

Agora não, que joga o Benfica! (Deolinda)

I'm happy to see that he's doing a good job. After he left Corinthians(few months after Roger came to Corinthians and is now one of our principal players) our defense became worse.

While I like is game, Anderson was making something like a stupid mistake per game on the last 4 ou 5 games. The kind of mistakes that leave the forwards straight in the face of the keeper.

And since we have good options, and the season is long, I agree with Koeman on benching Anderson.

I'm sure he'll be back soon. Class player.

I wouldn't read too much into a one game sitting. The modern game requires rotating players in and out of the lineup, otherwise they'll burnout before the end of the year.

Anderson has been a top notch signing,

I see him a lot like Paulo Ferreira, pretty consistent and does things cooly, and doesn't lose his head over things.

Definitely among the best if not the best in the league.
