Fysass coming to Hearts?

According to the Scottish Media Fysass has passed a medical with Hearts and it seems we'll sign him. What are your thoughts of this player? Is he a good left back, we're not looking for a world class player but someone with a European Championship medal can't be that bad surely? Why does your coach want to get rid of him? Anything else would be great Thanks :dielaugh:

fyssas had a terrible season last year...very slow, totally lost in the field, and bad passing.
the last drop was really when he was subbed during the cup final, and he put up an attitude.....

when he came to play for us, two seasons ago, he did a pretty decent job, and was key in our cup win.
he is not the type of player that moves up on the pitch and gets involved in offensive actions but, he was quite consistent defending and hard working.

all that changed last year though, and im very happy he is leaving.

the coach has another 3 LB options currently, and fyssas is the one set to leave...

im happy that he is finding a new club to play for,i think he can still make it a couple decent seasons, provided that he puts up some effort to it, good luck

Fyssas may be on the downside of his career.

But, if you judge him on the Scottish League slide rule, he could suddenly be viewed as a candidate for best left back in the league. As long as Hearts don't have a cheaper or younger alternative, he can give you a solid presence this season.

We have a fairly good young left back called Lee Wallace, but he is only 18. Hopefully Fyssas can come in and teach him a few things. Yeah, he probably would be the best left back in the Scottish Premier league, but that isn't saying much... Hey, we still beat Braga 5-3 on aggregate last season so we're not that bad a side! (We also have Ex-Benfica and Porto striker, Edgaras Jankauskas)

Hearts are slowly going to contend against Rangers and Celtic... Fyssas was great at Euro 2004, but did horrible this past season for Benfica. That's all I can tell you.

I stopped liking him after the Euro anyway.

Don't worry.... it only seems kinky the first time.

Fyssas is one of Benfica's heros. He won the cup and the championship with SLB. I wish him only the best for his stay in Scottland (though I'm rather for the Hibs there )

Haha, then you'll be disapointed with the scoreline this weekend when we crush them 5-0 . Why do you support such a set of Trainspotting extras?

We'll see ... I use to talk about a goal when it's scored
It's not like I am a die-hard Hibs-fan. You know my heart is in Lisbon and belongs to Benfica when it comes to football and I'm not really a Scottland-insider. It's just I rather felt like going for one of the smaller teams, old firm is just everywhere, meanwhile a Hibs shirt worn here in Germany is something unique. Whatsoever, I heard Hearts have become incredibly rich over night? What about that. Good news even though I have a soft spot for the Hibs as I think old firm needs a standing challenge to spicen things a bit up in scottish football.

Fyssas is now a Hearts player for 2 years, hopefully he'll be a consistent performer who can teach our youngsters a few things http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...an/4135216.stm

Oh yeah, and Hearts beat Hibs 4-0, so I was close
