Yes, thats right. Take a look at Eindhoven. They have that agreement with Chelsea and get some good young players on loan from them or get them even bought by them (f.e. Alex).
In my opinion that is the way to go for Benfica, too. There is so much young talent spread across the continent which is bought by elite clubs but made available on loan again. I think Benfica could very much profit from such deal(s).
Opinions?

Porto won the Champions League without being anyones bitch To be great again Benfica at first needs to win or draw on sunday.
We can surely go for some of those loan deals but I don't want Benfica to be kind of a satellite-club for Chelsea or whatever other club. Sporting got Rochemback from Barcelona for 2 years without particularely being their "bitch" (got it? )
At the moment we have very talented young players in our squad which we can built a future on. So what would be the outcome of becoming the proclaimed bitch? We would lose them for the agreement we have. I rather stick to Moreira, Miguel, RicRocha, Luisão (Benfica are trying to extend his stay and he seems interested ), Petit, Manulele, Simão, Geovanni or Mantorras then getting one Alex or Tevez for to see half of them leaving in reward and leading another club, we have so to say presented them to, to major glory.
Benfica may not win (many ) Eurocups this way in the future, but will have a consistency they have long time been missing and that will lead them to domestic success at least (what it already did at early stage, we won the cup last season against Mourinho's legendary Porto )

we are nobody's bitch

like Bier said, first things first, and that is to win or tie sunday!

anyways, we already had a semi-bitch experience back in the times of the parmalat sponsorship, and i think everyone recalls how harmful that was for us

Haha ... spare me ... I have a highlights-video of he 1994/95 season. Damn, we were so underachieving.
Yet still I am proud to possess a Benfica-shirt with parmalat as sponsor (it's a bad fake though and deals to me as pyjama now before important matches )

Benfica doesn't need to be someone's bitch in order to be successful.
There are other ways, such as getting players whose contract is about to end and investments in the formation section (already being made). Also, Benfica TV is already being studied, which will make a considerable profit if well planned.
At the moment, Benfica's finances are weak to say the least, but that doesn't mean that it will continue to be so in the future. We have a huge potential when compared to Porto or Sporting, so our future seems bright again, after so many years in the mud.

PSV ain't nobody's bitch either. They advanced as far as Chelsea this season in the CL and locked up the Dutch league. They have some fantastic players that are theirs as does Benfica. The key for Benfica is getting a great coach, and keeping their policy of playing young established veterans with a mix of youth. I had my doubts about Trappatoni, but so far he has delivered. After this season, Benfica cannot lay low. They must find an strong coach (Welcome Camacho), and they must boost their depth in a couple of positions (midfield, GET JOAO ALVES FROM BRAGA!!).

Welcome back Rod. You and Bier are making me post on these forums again! Very cool!

....There was also a conspiracy against Sporting to keep them out of 1st place by 26 points. The conspiracy is about to be revealed in a public judicial forum soon enough. It's hasn't anything to do with Golden whistles, but with Golden Showers, as Sporting Administration and coaching has conspired to piss all over themselves this season.

Speaking of a new coach - does anyone like the idea of Co Adrianse being coach next year? Might be the second-best possible solution... after me.

We ain't nobody's bitch and never will be....With all the teams you like, only Celtic is recognizable and I doubt you're even a wee bit Scottish...

Have a nice day!

Flo - I seriously doubt that my favorite teams are of any interest to the future of Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
